If you are posting from a time warp to 1998.And it's officially time to expand the CFP field..
I prefer 4. Keep the regular season important. But that should have been UCF's spot...
Freshman QB against Nick Saban. I think at this time next week that sentence will speak for itself. No way in hell that's gonna go well.
UGA's defense is gonna have to win this one if it's even possible.
UCF has a lot to be proud of this season BUT 3 of their games were canceled, no telling what could've happened in any of those games and if they want to play for the big trophy than they need to play the big teams
No. What I think ultimately happens down the line is that it becomes a power 4 conference. PAC 12 adds 4 schools, SEC adds 2, big10 adds 2, ACC adds 1 as Notre Dame is kind of part of the acc, but is football independent. Big 12 ultimately follows the big east and is gone. Conference winners become the teams that play in the playoffs. But, that's a few years away. And it's officially time to expand the CFP field. 8 teams, all 5 Power 5 conference champs, the top Group of 5 conference champ, and two at-large teams.
Georgia is going to have to get creative on offense with personnel. They can't sit in 22 personnel and move Alabama. They can use 10 personnel and sub the inside receivers as TE's and keep them flexed so that you stretch the box and use a lot of outside zone with michel and inside zone with Chubb. If they line up and try and run the ball at the Alabama front 7, they'll struggle. Oklahoma was so bad in their run fits when Georgia ran right at them. Oklahoma held up on the edges. Pretty much have to do the opposite against Alabama. Even if its not incredibly successful.
But, not like Bama is an offensive juggernaut. Don't think Hurts will hurt the Dawgs with his arm. Without the 2 turnovers, the Tide produced 10 points. They needed a short field without an OPI call to get that 2nd TD.
Comes down to taking care of the ball and hitting on a big play when you get the chance.
Like it or not, Alabama deserved to make the playoffs and they've proved their worth so far.
This being a home game for Georgia will be hilarious if they end up losing.
They made up 2 of the 3 games. They pushed Memphis back a few weeks and dropped their bye to play Austin Peay who were willing to come here to play. Their stadium was being used to house the national guard during post hurricane recovery so couldn't get Georgia Tech to come here to play and they had sent all the kids home to be with family so they weren't able to even go up to Atlanta to play them.
As for scheduling big teams they would love to but the big teams only want it their way, a 1 and done at their house the top ones won't come here to play. It's why we get the Maryland, Georgia tech, North Carolina and Pittsburg types. And when we beat those we get that their weak P5 teams and it doesn't count as much. We beat more bowl teams than Alabama and had just as many AP top 25 wins as them too. We were ranked 12th and them 4th, that's just biased any way you slice it.
