Chiefs in a close one
I am picking Chiefs but fear that with Chiefs horrid D that they may Chief this up and meekly go out in divisional round once again
If Chiefs pull a Chiefs and bow out at home in divisional round again the fans in KC will be heartbroken
2018 - Chiefs 12-4 with WC bye = ?
2016 - Chiefs 12-4 with WC bye = Lost in Divisional round to Steelers
2003 - Chiefs 13-3 with WC bye = Lost in Divisional round to Colts
1997 - Chiefs 13-3 with WC bye = Lost in Divisional round to Broncos
1995 - Chiefs 13-3 with WC bye = Lost in Divisional round to Colts
For franchise and its fan finally getting past the divisional round would feel like a weight being lifted off franchise and wipe away years of playoff frustration
Luck wont be stopped, only by the Rams in the finals
Chiefs will win this time around. Mahomes will be the difference
Chiefs are due. See: Caps/Pens
Colts with the upset.
Have faith in Pat though
If the Chiefs win theylltend their two biggest playoff demons. The home losing streak and the Colts.
Every time the Chiefs play the Colts in the playoffs it feels like being kicked in the dick as a Chiefs fan. 3 of the most heartbreaking losses anyone can imagine have come in the playoffs at the hands of the Colts.
I believe in Mahomes.
I seem to recall these two teams playing a wild playoff game back in 2013. I'd be tempted to take the Colts in the upset here, except Arrowhead is probably the 2nd best home field advantage in the league right now.
Chiefs home playoff woes continue. Luck will feast on their horrid D & The Colts D will do enough to get the Upset of the Week!
Colts 42 - Chiefs 38
The Colts are too physical for the Chiefs, they are winning this game.
#1) The infamous Jan 96 debacle
Bono , Dawson and Elliott performances that day would haunt Chiefs for decades.
Elliott was real life Ray Finkel and never played another NFL game after that horrific performance
2) 2004 vs Colts (38-31 Colts win in Div round)
#3) Blowing 28 pt lead in 2nd half in Wildcard
Chiefs are 0-4 vs Colts in playoffs losing in January to Colts in 1996 (Chiefs were 13-3 that year) , 2004 (Chiefs were 13-3 that year), 2007 (Chiefs were 9-7 that year) and 2014 (Chiefs were 11-5 that year)
The 1996 game I remember well. That's when I started watching football and became a Colts' fan. The next round against the Steelers was imo one of the most underrated playoff games in NFL history, with a hail Mary that hit Colts' receiver between the numbers only to wind up on the ground.
I remember the Jim Harbaugh run that year was big story in Chicago. People were wondering why he never played that good all those years in Chicago
He was a disappointment in Chicago
A lot of interesting matchups. Colts' D don't give up a lot of big plays, but they are last in the league at covering TEs.
Aaron Bailey. I thought he caught it.
I think there’s a very good chance both teams drop 40
Gonna come down to turnovers IMO
This has all the makings of a demon slaying moment. The rough playoff history, the team who has handed you the most heartbreaking losses in the span, the home playoff game with legions of fans waiting for the "one" moment.
Indy looked damn good on saturday. Their offensive line is a brick wall, Luck is back to himself and the Chiefs have an awful defense. Bad combo.
Mahomes is good, no doubt about it. To win this game, the Chiefs are basically putting all the pressure on him (let's be real he's still a kid) to outduel a guy who himself is also on a mission to prove something.
Colts by 10. Mahomes is shaky in his first playoff start and commits 2 costly turnovers.
All I can say is bet the over
I faintly remember watching the division playoff versus KC. But I remember that game.
I thought he caught it too.
Didn't believe in KC coming out of the AFC prior to the playoffs and I'm sticking with that. But I just can't ride Indianapolis now...even if they do finally have some semblance of a defense
Colts also haven't faced a top 10 offense since their 1-5 start. They're 0-2 when they do. Kelce is going to have a monster game, and the game isn't being played in a dome. I think it will be close but I see the Chiefs slaying 2 demons at once.
Lol....when they can't stop the Saints how will the Rams make the finals?
Could be the 2013 Wild Card game all over again minus the huge lead.
Whoever gets the turnover wins. I don't see KC stopping Luck. They don't get to the QB.
It's the team they didn't want.
That 1995 divisional game I remember like it was yesterday. Colts played hard defense all game and sorta gave Schottenheimer a taste of his own medicine....they played Marty Ball to a tee.
Separate names with a comma.
