You missed the days of Irving Fryar. Took him with the #1 overall pick, was "ok" but never great. One time he "got injured"during a game and left at half time (probably more um.. impaired than injured). He snuck out and tried driving home, and crashed into a tree.

Things were really bad before RKK/Parcells/Bledsoe

Ahhh, the Dick McPherson days. That's when i first became a fan. I remember when Bledsoe was drafted, it was cool to be a Pats fan at my school even though they were still bad in his rookie season. But you could see the change coming.

This is a D+ roster propped up by Brady/Belichick.

Hell, you could give them Gruden's Raider roster and they'd probably make the SB.

This is actually the least “Brady-propped” team they’ve had since 2006. For the majority of this season Brady has basically been a low risk game manager like he was at the beginning of his career.

Sony Michel is easily the most talented back they’ve had since Corey Dillon. Offense is predicated on him and Brady’s chemistry with White and Edelman.

At midseason, he was on pace for identical stats to his last year (MVP) if you discounted a couple of deflected picks (one of which shouldn’t even have been ruled one, as Gronk took three steps before fumbling the ball).

In total this season, he hasn’t been as good as 2014-2017, but he’s also nowhere near Peyton Manning in 2015 game management levels. He can probably be effective at least another year, maybe two.

Also, when your game management (or ”system”) relies on elite D reading, pocket awareness and unprecedented aptitude at getting rid of the ball quickly and accurately, it still takes a pretty special football player.

Edelman is not flashy player but when the game is on the line I'd take him over any WR with the exception of Jerry Rice.

Edelman is a product of Brady IMHO. If he ever leaves.... look at what happened to Amendola.

Maybe, but Amendola had a corpse throwing him passes all year.

He was a decent player with the Rams before joining the Patriots, just couldn't stay healthy.

Also, his stats didn’t drop off too much.

Is Michel REALLY this good or is he just a product of the system?

Is the NFL SO watered down that all these AFC teams with youth and talent can't beat a 41 year old QB?
