Romanov ends the game with no points, 8:52 TOI over 12 shifts. He had 3 hits and 2 PIM on a high-sticking call.
lol at this pace he will have zero points can he at least get an assist or something?

any points are really gravy at this point. I think he's already kind of overachieving considering we all thought this was a horrible pick.
He doesn't play on the PP and the way they have handled his ice time, he doesn't always play a consistent shift and on top of that I've seen them play him at both RD and LD while in other games he was just at RD and other at just LD. In 3 of his last 4 games he's been getting under 9 minutes a game, that's tough to do much with when he sits for a while. But I could see him getting a point here and there if he plays more consistently as CSKA has some good forwards.
I don't think many thought it was a horrible pick, more that they weren't happy where he was picked. I bet if he was a 4th rounder people wouldn't have complained, plus even the Russian posters seemed to be shocked he got picked where he did.
I still don't know what to make of him.
Hoping he makes the Russian U20 team. He turns 19 in January. It would be a better measuring stick to see him play against the best 18 and 19 year olds in the world vs against men in the KHL.
Thanks for this.Watched the whole game today, Romanov did well as he was paired with Nesterov all night, it was the best game of the season for him. He played a career high 14:22 TOI, his high before that was 13:44 and it marks the 4th time in 16 games that he's played more then 12 minutes.
He picked up his first assist in his KHL career, he wasn't credited with it at first, it came during a quick burst of 3 goals in a few minutes for CSKA as before that it was a tight game. He had 2 hits, the first one wasn't much as he sandwiched a player with Nesterov and the 2nd was a decent hit along the boards where he stood up his man. He had a shot on goal but I didn't see it, and I watched almost every shift. He did have one play where he got the puck on the rush but couldn't handle the pass or he might have been in a good spot to get a shot or pass it.
I was impressed because he played all game at RD and was mistake free.

He literally has the smallest shoulders but hits like a truckGreat stuff. It's looking like he's slowly translating his game to the pros.
After rewatching the games post draft, that's what struck me. He had a mature game with pro ready skating and strength.

Bouillon wasnt exactly small though, theres a reasons he was named the cube. He was as wide as he was tall, which is not very tall, but pretty wide.Kind of like Bouillon. I don't know exactly what size Bouillon was at 18, but he was always a small sized player who hit like a truck. And his timing for laying the body was really good.

Thicc boillon is what I used to call him.Yeah, he wasnt tall but thick af.
Bouillon was like 5'8", 200lbs. He was a big motherf***er.Kind of like Bouillon. I don't know exactly what size Bouillon was at 18, but he was always a small sized player who hit like a truck. And his timing for laying the body was really good.
Hes either really strong or a really good technical hitter, or a bit of both.Bouillon was like 5'8", 200lbs. He was a big mother****er.
Romanov is short, but doesn't look like he has a lot of meat on his bones either, yet he's still laying big hits in the second best hockey league in the world. I'm excited to see what he can do once he's filled out.

an 18 years old doing no mistake as a Defense in the KHL is something pretty amazing.Watched the whole game today, Romanov did well as he was paired with Nesterov all night, it was the best game of the season for him. Let's dream a bit, if somehow in the best of situations, he became a clone of Niklas Kronwall or a modern Vladimir Konstantinov, we'd be in business for a while...
Some spelling and syntax mistakes here and there, but good job nonetheless @Alessandro Seren Rosso. We really appreciate any info on our prospects.I just published a translated interview with Alexander Romanov.
