Just flicked it on

How does Hughes look?

he had a pretty good 1st. it’s hard to judge because it’s pretty clunky...once they all start developing some chemistry it’ll be easier to tell.

the goaltending has been really good though

i notice this every year…..this tournament is insanely fast hockey
It definitely is. Part of the excitement comes from how many mistakes are made at this level though, you just don't see it as much in the NHL.

quinn hughes everywhere....super dynamic but also had some damon severson specials. The difference being the u.s actually supports him defensively.

How does Hughes look?

It's only been 1 game but....hughes is playing exactly how he's been playing, the other 2 on his line have been real sloppy.

Frost has been all over the ice, well deserved 3 points in the first period.

How the heck did he drop in draft day?

I didn't think J Hughes looked dominant today .

Barzal looked better than him back in WJC a few years ago.

Though, it's only one game.

It's why I dont want him. He needs players who can get in prime scoring spots and his linemates didn't do that all game. He got some scoring chances himself but his shot sucks.

Also he got completely owned physically multiple times lol

He didn't drop. He went 27th and was ranked lower than that.

Barzal also didn't play at the World Juniors in his draft year. He played in his D+1 and D+2 seasons.

So it's an even better job of scouting by Hextall's guys.

Oh, Hughes is younger than Barzal was at WJC?

Is there a mercy rule? Canada is going to breeze through this tourney.

I thought Robertson looked great for the US. For my money he was probably their best player. Not impressed by J. Hughes at all.

Denmark might not even send a team next year, if they get beat up like this again this tournament.
