Conclusions:

- Defencemen were so damn equal on the competition, but Saarijärvi really stood out. Best offensive defenceman of the game. But, was also lost with Kronwall in the own end.
- Trevor Daley also quite creative.
- Anthony Mantha was probably worst of big money NHL guys.
- Bertuzzi was great, Larkin a bit off.
- Vanek is still the best creating offence.
- Zadina is phenomenally good at creating offence for his age.
- Rasmussen's offence a bit disappears without the power-play.
- Nyquist, created best chances for Team White.
- Jussi Jokinen, didn't notice him almost at all, but when he did something it was a quality chance.
- Matt Puempel doesn't seen to be interested playing in NHL.
- Nice to see Svechnikov on the scoreboard, makes good for his confidence.
- Christopher Ehn showed nothing except good defence on prospect tournament and is suddenly really good also offensively in this game.
- Jake Chelios liked to throw weak shots on goaltenders.
- Harri Säteri best goalie today. Faced most shots and didn't allow a goal.

I liked Ehn a lot today. AA too. I also thought Jensen looked pretty good, especially early on. I haven't been a huge fan of his but he moved the puck well. I'm not worried about Jokinen making the team - as Henkka said, he was invisible out there. Hadn't seen a pro game in-person in a few months obviously and forgot how good these males are up close. Very entertaining.

Very true, but that's our (projected) #1 line. If they don't get it going, man this could be an ugly season.
We were garbage last season, our team hasn't changed much other than a HUGE loss with Z gone for the entire year.

It was always going to be a pretty ugly season. You're going to need to get used to taking joy from watching players improve rather than seeing the team do well.

vanek is pure style. he is so skilled and crafty, what a playmaker he is. I'm glad he's back, that goal by zadina was an awesome combination

I didn't get to spend as much time at the rink as I normally do when I'm in TC for training camp, but one thing I really did appreciate about this camp was that the Wings finally embraced where they are at in the process and put the emphasis on the kids, rather than the veterans. I'm expecting a really tough season wins wise, but this team should get back to winning within a couple seasons.

So California
I really like those line combos used in this game and damn AA, Vanek and Zadina's passing play was filthy.
Not going to lie, it was really nice. However, this team has always had a problem with passing too much and not taking the shot. I hope this has nothing to do with that though.

It is preseason (non game), can't expect roster locks to be fully engaged, they never are.

Really wanted Fazio, Guay (teammate of Veleno) and Gogolev to get a contract. I guess they were not good enough for the GR.

Too bad we never got a winger like Vanek to play with Datsyuk
He had a 37 goal Hull, a 40 goal Shanahan (unless that was the season he played with Lang), a 40 goal in 74 game Hossa, and a prime Zetterberg for several seasons. Different types of players to Vanek, but all were better than the current incarnation of Vanek

Unfortunate Gogolev got injured and didnt get to play much. Think he will be an over age drafter next year, probably in 3rd-4th round

I was wondering why he wasn't playing. It's kind of bad but I like this news. I really like him and was afraid that it was something wrong with his personality . We need to sign him and sent to gr.
