Well we scouted kings games a lot I assume he is the guy we looked at
He's a LD, with the rotation we haven't been playing guys on their offside as much. What would we paying to acquire him? And if it's to upgrade Coburn what are we doing with Coburn?
We probably would trade Coburn out somewhere else
Price tag probably raddysh for Martinez I’d say but you get Martinez for two playoff runs
Seems like a trade just to make a trade
We should trade Erne for Connolly
Why does everyone want to trade Raddysh? And all the trades of him are for bottom pair defenders or bottom 6 forwards, not even someone good. I would rather play Sergachev in the playoffs then sit him for Martinez so right there I have no interest. I don't want to move Raddysh for him so another no there.
What are we trading Coburn for? If we trade him for a 2nd or 3rd + I'd use those pieces with a small + to get Martinez or another depth defender. But I wouldn't move Coburn for a 3rd then go spend a 1st for Martinez. I would just keep Coburn in that case.
I think this happens a lot.
It won't be easy to add to this team in a way that makes sense. Every addition comes with a subtraction, because somebody's gonna get benched.
Yea I wouldnt be surprised if we stood pat. However also wouldnt be surprised if we added. We could upgrade on Girardi and possibly Erne/Callahan. But are we ready to pay deadline prices to upgrade our 3rd pairing and 4th line wingers? I dont think we will unless the right deal comes a long. I could see us trade for a RHD who has some term since we will need one after our 3 vets are UFA next year. Only if that player makes us better. We have been scouting Ceci for a few years now. I know we arent super excited about a player like him but seems like smoke there.
JBB trolling Dorion/Melnyk as payback for the Karlsson fiasco.
"...We're prepared to offer you Raddysh + Joseph for Ceci.
... ...Oh wait, I forgot you're in the Atlantic, so, on second thought, you can go **** yourself."
Actually yeah, forgot about Lundin. I can't quantify it yet, but it seems that forwards can shine better under Guy, but defensemen can suffer more.
I was thinking for a minute about Edmonton and picking at that corpse for some deadline additions but I can honestly say that outside of McDavid (not happening) and Draisaitl (too expensive), there really isn't anything worth a **** to take from that team anymore.
Edmonton Oilers - CapFriendly - NHL Salary Caps
Look how ****ed this team is. Look how much money is tied up, look at the money tied up in buyouts, look at how many guys need contracts. The only saving grace they seem to have is someone severely overvaluing RNH or Lucic and dumping that salary to have more wiggle room. They have 22m committed to that blueline, and we spend a bit over 25.
Chiarelli completely and utterly ****ed that team so incredibly hard. Even when we think we've got issues with our roster, holy **** what a dumpster fire. They took the best player in the world and surrounded him with flaming trash barrels and shrugged. I would want out of that org so fast.
I wonder who the Rangers will have available. ... Seriously.
It shouldnt surprise anybody if we do some business again with the Rangers. They are invested in our season and could look to either help us win it or just get that 1st guaranteed no matter if we win or not. Dont really know who we would be looking at if we did trade with them but its definitely something to keep an eye on as we get closer to the deadline.
Hayes? Pending UFA
Shattenkirk 50% retained for Callahan and Girardi.
Zuc and Hayes but I don’t see us having much interest
Edmonton is a disaster chiarelli if he would have done nothing would still have hall and eberle right now! And the pick they traded away was barzel.
Sounds like things will heat up for Stone and Duchean across the league. Mane Stone would be awesome.
They both got to be gone who would choose to play for Ottawa with that owner still in place there lol
So uh once again... how about Luke Glendening?
1.8 for two more seasons. Pass, too much in the pipeline to go after him, for the difference he provides this year.
He's a defensive powerhouse shutting down opposing top players (we had to experience that ourselves) plus he's super good at faceoffs. While we're not trash at faceoffs anymore this season, last season a big problem was winning faceoffs in the playoffs. It resulted in a lot more time in our own zone and we've seen even this season that once we get crushed in our zone, clearing and exiting the zone is not our forte. Glendening would improve that in both defensive play and in the faceoff circle.
Consider him an early Paquette replacement who will ask for a raise after the season anyway and could cost us around $2M then.
It seems that Panarin will play for Panthers, according to what I've read on Facebook...
If Panarin is available right now, does anybody think we could go for him?
