From what I have seen is his defensive game looks a lot better.

He mentioned in an interview during one of his games that he’s trying to apply what he learned in the NHL to the games he plays with London.

I think that coaches are pretty harsh towards CHL-ers this year: if you don't show immediate impact in those two games of the CAN/RUS Series, they say goodbye without giving any second chance. Maksimov didn't show it, so he is out.

This. Maksi played those 2 games right in the middle of hid cold streak. Russia is a team that you shoud take little stock in who makes it and who doesn;t

It’s unfortunate because his goal totals are so good and to come down to a two game audition seems unfair, but what can you do.

Very. He seems to be the player whose cieling rises with every promotion up. His play rises to the level he competes at. Could be exciting if him, Bouchard and Jones are in the mix next again.
