The way they force Debrusk with Krejci is maddening. Ridiculous.
I agree.

They're both great players in their own right, but don't seem the best fit as line mates. 90% of DeBrusk's shots are chances he generates on his own. I feel like he could do what he does with anyone.

It's also odd that they've never tried him with Bergeron. I know 37 & 63 have great chemistry but we just saw great chemistry with 63 & 46 too. Why not see if 74 & 37 could mesh better than 74 & 46?

Trade Bergeron then... Debrusk can play with anyone. Why pay 7 millions with someone who can’t help.

no idea if this is feasible due to roster limits, but man if I was Cassidy I'd be tempted to call up the Hughes-Frederic-Bjork line that dressed for Providence tonight and sit 3 of the regulars for a couple games.

This team needs to be reminded that nobody's job is guaranteed.

That reminder shouldn't simply be for the players...Even management and the head coach need a job scare IMO.

S**t or get off the pot!

I would like to see the kid line reunited and the Marchand-Krejci-Pastrnak line. Both seemed to have really good chemistry.

Would like to see Debrusk and Bergeron together. I don’t know that they have ever played together. I think they could have solid chemistry. Add in a good young fast kid with speed- Bjork, Senyshyn, even Frederic.

4th line any combo of Backes, Kuraly, Nordstrom, Cave, Wagner, Accairi

Nordy is up a line is because of Marchand being out and there is no one else Cassidy trusts. It is obvious the plan has changed from run and gun to protect the house. Secondary scoring has dried up. Krech is either effective or not, no in between. DeBrusk should be with Bergy and when Marshy come back put him with Krech. We need to have 2 lines going to have a chance, load up the top 2 lines with the best balance possible. Love to see Blidh on the 4th causing chaos taking the spotlight off Marshy. Acciari can get waived or sent down. Bjork and JFK in, Donato and Cave out.

Sweeney needs to wake up and start waiving people. I’d rather watch a young player try to find his game than Acciari or Kuraly continue to do nothing forever.

How I'd do lines when everyone's healthy (never)

Marchand - Bergeron - Debrusk
Bjork - Krejci - Pastrnak
Donato - JFK - Heinen
Nordstrom - Cave - Backes

Chara - McAvoy
Gryz/Moore - Carlo
Krug - Miller

Rask
Halak

Notes:

Someone said up here that Debrusk and Krejci aren't exactly PB&J and I agree. I think putting the Snek man with Bergeron and Marchand can freshen some things up and Snek doesn't exactly have to set up his own chances to score the whole damn time. I don't recall them trying Bjork with Krejci and with Pasta there, it can certainly be an interesting combo. That third line when it was together was awesome the whole time. A kids third line that can score at any time. 4th line can be one of our million 4th liners, but those three started producing towards the end of their time together so I'll roll with the hot hand.

On D, something about Krug and Carlo together doesn't sit well with me. The bottom 2 pairings wouldn't be pair 2 and pair 3, more so pair 2A and 2B. Krug and Miller can be together while we can try Gryz and Moore with Carlo. I personally love both Gryz and Moore so scratching one or the other would be painful to do, but injuries happen (especially to us) so there'll be plenty of playing time to go around.

Rask is #1 goalie. Lick my taint Rask haters.

Please STOP with the Cehlarik and Bjork adds. They aren't dominating in Providence never mind lighting up the offense in Boston.

Time for Kuraly to have a shot at the top...call up Blidth for 4th line , Cehlarik for the 3rd line and send Donato/JFK to Providence.

Not sure what to say about Heinen. Some seem to think he's close but we've been hearing that since the start of this season. Thinking he's on top of Don's shopping cart.

Cehlarik had 2 assist last night and is averaging a point a game. Bjork pretty much is doing the same

Parent club keeps rolling out 2 4th lines.... this team will score less than 2 goals per game

how do you win games like this?

Marchand - Bergy - Donato
Cehlarik - Krejci - Pastrnak
DeBrusk - Cave - Heinen

I'd like to see them give that lineup a couple of games.

If anybody can carry a yout' it's 63/37, and I think Donato would benefit from having to carry the play and just be more of a guy who jumps in and out of the play. Playing with them would give him a chance to use his hands/creativity more and 63 & 37 alone are better than most teams 5on5 so I'd like to think they could cover for Donato's defensive gaffes.

For the 2nd line it's time to try something different. Krejci and Pasta have shown that they can play together if they have a LW that blends with their styles. Since Marchand is off-limits, I'd like to see some new blood get a look. Even if you don't think Cehlarik looked good there in the past, he's been playing great and deserves a look. If he doesn't work, quickly move on to Fitzgerald and Frederic. (But Cehlarik will work ;-)

For the Bruins to compete with the likes of Washington and Tampa, the Bruins are going to need a 3rd line that is a legitimate threat to score. I think putting Jake DeBrusk on that line could give the Bruins the kind of advantage that Kessel gave the Penguins in 2016. DeBrusk and Heinen have had some chemistry this year and Colby Cave was Jake DeBrusk's center for Jake's most productive junior season.

If that lineup works you can ride it until the deadline, at which point you can look to upgrade Donato and Cave with proven NHL'ers.

This season is turning into Dumb and Dumber failure.

Our dumb GM signed 2 forwards in the offseason, Nordstrom and Wagner, both borderline 4th liners. Our dumber coach keeps playing them game in and game out. I don't buy "Cassidy keeps playing the guys he can trust" bulls**t. Both had no history with Bruins before.
The failure started during the camp. Coach called out Cehlarik after the very first game in China of not having NHL pace. However he didn't call out Backes for being super slow or Marchand for his antics in the same game. Nor did he called out later during the camp Donato for being a turnover machine or Acciari for being useless. Sweeney sent down Frederic and Cehlarik instead of sending down Donato and Bjork and waiving Acciari.

If Donato and Bjork started in Providence they wouldn't be under so much pressure. Bjork would have had a proper camp and much easier way to gain confidence and pace. Same Donato. First injury in the line up and the better of two is up. Also a 8-10 game look would give us an opportunity to see if Frederic or Cehlarik could have a future here.
Now we have Cehlarik getting Czarnik's treatment, Bjork is going to be next after Cehlarik is gone. Frederic buried in Providence on the 4th line with guys like Fyten and Pond.

Another failure is the secondary scoring. Does our GM finally waive Acciari and bring somebody from down? No, he claims off waivers another stiff in Smith. After few games is waived and sent down anyway.
The only reason we were in the playoffs picture until now was a out of the world production from the first line and the Jennings trophy goaltending.

This could have been the opening night roster

Marchand Bergeron Pasta
Debrusk Krejci Heinen
Cehlarik Frederic Backes
Nordstrom Kuraly Wagner
