Meh .. gives me less reason to root for the Nets. The becoming contenders overnight strategy in the NBA turns me off to be honest. It just doesn't feel as earned as a Stanley Cup.

It's the NBA...lot easier to put together a good team when you only need a couple of stars and maybe a few other role players than it is the other sports with bigger rosters.

I'm always glad when the tankers get it up the rear end though, the Knicks can bite me lol

I stopped being a Nets fan because they dubbed themselves too good for NJ

Now I gotta see this.

Feels sad man.

But you know what doesn't feel sad? Seeing the Knicks continue to be the Bing of NYC pro sports teams

i liked this based on your last sentence, however, i’m of the view that there’s also two football teams who think they’re too good for new jersey even though people from our side of the river have no issues rooting for either of them. i mean, the giants *literally* removed “GIANTS” from the helmets and restored the lowercase ny and the jets have new jerseys that have “NEW YORK” plastered on the front above the numbers as if they needed to remind everyone who they even are. (yes, i’m aware of history, they’re the “new york city” teams, blah, blah, i don’t care.)

the nets were founded in new jersey, went to long island, came back to new jersey, then went back to new york where they’re specifically called “brooklyn” and not “new york” which is honestly a big part of why i couldn’t turn on them easily.

they’ve always been nomads. the most important thing is that they’re not the knicks.

Schoomz and other Knicks fans get another offseason of pretending anyone actually wants to play there and then nothing.

Wonder who next year’s fantasy will be.
Captain midnight is going have a stroke on air tonight between Panarin and KD/Kyrie/De'andre.

I may have to listen for the first time in years.

So now DeAngelo's going to the Warriors? Good lord let the Warriors have all the guards!

Made practical sense for the Nets cause they had to off DeAngelo anyway to bring in the big two but guess they did him a solid moving him to Golden State in the wink-wink sign and trade lol.

Well the GM of the Nets was reported as him working to get DeAngelo to a contending team. Can't get more "contending" than the Warriors.

Knicks reportedly cancelled a meeting with Kawhi Leonard in fear of missing out on other free agents per Bleacher Report and New York Post.

Amazing.

Brooklyn via NJ, like the Nets
I do feel dirty cheering for a superteam (although the Nets aren't really going to be one next season), but that's the nature of today's NBA. That said, I kinda miss the days when the best players had big egos and wouldn't be caught dead sharing the spotlight.

There was no chance he was going to sign with the Knicks, but it's always fun to laugh at that team regardless.

The way the NBA seems to work is that great players get out of their deal anytime they want so if your team missed out on a top free agent this season, if he has a good year, he'll be on the market again next offseason demanding more money, or maybe he'll just run to California to take a pittance to ride Curry and Thompson's coattails or to play backup to LeBron.

KD, AD, and DeMarcus Cousins should be ashamed of themselves for doing what they did. KD and Cousins are both laughed at for slightly different reasons, while AD is in LA because he has the same agent as LeBron, and couldn't see that the agent appears to be valuing LeBron's best interests over AD's.

The NBA is a mess in my view.

NBA summer league features the Pelicans led by two of their three first round picks and their second round pick playing very fast and showing actual defense in a summer league. Zion isn’t plying and they have won their last two games by over twenty point margins. They won’t be very good this season with so many young players but in a year or two they could become a good team.

Just jumped on with the Hawks and the NBA as a whole - saw the Doncic trade from a year ago

Doncic looks special and Young looks like he could be a star too, but I think Reddish could break the deal for the Hawks. Watched the draft video and saw some highlights, if he can figure himself out personally and gain some consistency - he could be a top-5 draft talent. Id certainly take Young, a Curry-lite +A possible Paul George type in Reddish over Doncic.

Lets see if it pans out that way, hopefully it does!

Nova has a LOT of young guys this year. If another team is going to win the league, this is the year

next year if everyone stays, they should be a top 5 team.
