Rennes can qualify with a win at home against Astana.
Bordeaux will need to win and hope Zenith wins at Slavia.
Lyon has been surprisingly good, but overall France heavily underachieved this year. Russia struggled too yet has the same coefficient as France

I can't see how you can say they underachieved this early.
Summaries are done afterwards.
For now, OM and Monaco have sucked.
PSG and Lyon have done well.
Bordeaux and Rennes have struggled early but could go through (though Bordeaux will need a lot of help).

That second goal they scored helped a lot, giving them H2H edge over Slavia. It was also incredibly embarassing for Slavia, whose players seemed to have just stopped playing

It's pretty amazing that Leipzig suffer two defeats against a Salzburg site that is effectively their farm team.

It is and if somebody thinks Salzburg will Leipzig do any favour, he's wrong. Little brother, big brother. They won't loose at Celtic on purpose, but I doubt they will fight for their lives either. Maybe some players simply become "ill".

Salzburg is undefeated this year and reached the semifinals of the europa league last year. i think leipzig underestimated both celtic and salzburg this year.

After watching the full highlights, hard not to notice that Karius let in another cheap one... not as glaring as other times, but caught out of position and punished with a nicely placed lob from far out that a keeper should really answer for

Anybody knows how Standard can pass Krasnodar? How many goals do they need?

Well they need to overturn a goal differential of 5, so any Krasnodar loss at Sevilla will determine how many goals Standard have to score in Turkey. So any combination if a 1-0 Sevilla win/4-0 Standard win; 2-0 Sevilla/3-0 Standard; 3-0 Sevilla/2-0 Standard etc.. will see Standard through.

Very interesting, a team could go out with 12pts, that's certainly very rare.
if leipzig had managed to beat salzburg last round then that group stood a good chance of someone going out on 12 points as well. guess its not to surprising as the europa league group stage will have some really weak 4th place teams.

Arsenal team sheet is interesting today. Ozil slotting back in which is good to see, same with Kos. Will also be fun to see Saka play in the senior squad!

It looks like pretty much all French clubs are eliminated in Europa League. Taking a year off ?
Rennes just got through.
Lyon and PSG are through in CL (both in tough groups).
Bordeaux has a long shot to go through too.

Marseille and Monaco really hurt the overall results though and it seems Bordeaux will be out as well. What is wrong with Marseille?

Russia isn't having the best of year though and we will see how teams will do in the knockouts. CSKA really should have done better against Roma and Plzen, but they will remember those results against Real and the huge crowds at Luzhniki will help them $.
