How...how are there worse teams than us?
This team continues to hang onto its assets and/or is actively trying to re-sign them. You know, because bringing back the same team next season will obviously result in a playoff push.

Garbage post in a good thread. Come on dude, at least wait to the deadline passes. That's complaining just for the sake of complaining.

Yeah, I saw that. I heard the Ducks are only a couple of points out of the playoffs, so I figured we wanted Philly to win. The truth is stranger than I could imagine. The West is weird this year.

Nbd.

I believe the Flyers end up making it. Just a feeling.

The Ducks are... ooof. We’re cup contenders compared to them.

This year I'm not gonna hope for any Wings losses.

I root for others to win. :)

Especially for Devils and Sens atm.
While I think it's unlikely, I still hope that a few more Ottawa wins might sway Duchene and Stone to remain with the Senators. It helps their win total, and drives up the price of guys like Nyquist at the deadline.

Both Arizona and Florida won! Quality tank night all around. It's increasingly likely that the Wings will finish in the bottom 5. That would mean the latest the lottery could kick us would be 8th, and a quite tiny chance at that.

Right now they look like a likely bottom 3 team. Obviously things can change but I feel like they've been bottom 3 for quite some time.

Kesler has 4 goals and 6 points in 47 games...

:amazed:

Wow! When Justin Abdelkader and Darren Helm are out scoring you, you got problems. Anaheim is gonna be bad for a while. Wouldn't be surprised to see them finishing with less points than the wings.

Tin foil needed for my theory:

Anaheim, regardless of where they finish, as long as it out of the playoffs, win the lottery and draft Hughes

NHL will be looking out for a poor team that literally couldn't afford to fire and hire coaches so they just..... kept losing..... for like 2 straight months. Until finally their GM had to take on a second job because how can you excuse any of this?

With McDavid going to the Edmonton wasteland and Phoenix losing out on Matthews, I don't think this league rigs the lottery. Those were two prime opportunities to turn around struggling franchises they could prop up.

I don't know if tanking is a good choice .There are no Dahlin this year I see about 10 kids after Hughes who could be the best from the draft , Question is who is it ? . Yes we need better scouting and draft like we did in 2014

Ernst and Young (EY) is known as one of the big 4 public accounting firms and they audit/oversee the lottery. I HIGHLY doubt they would allow the NHL to rig it considering it would tarnish their reputation and they don’t want to be the next Arthur Andersen. Yes, public accounting isn’t perfect but I feel like this process is so cut and dry it would be hard to pull one over on them.
