Part 2: 2018-19 Roster talk; Part two
If Patrick's out do we see pimp?
Time for Fletcher to make some changes. Call up Myers and move Simmonds for starters.
He was hired as an "action" guy. These moves are the bare minimum of what he should do.
I agree. I just mean that Myers should be called up yesterday, and it's time to move Simmonds now rather than wait for the deadline. He can then work from there.
Weal unlikely, IMO. Hextall won’t promote any prospect skaters for some reason.
Did I say Hextall? Silly me.
I really hope Fletcher isnt the kind of gm that requires an extended losing streak before making a move. Even if the teams doing well its clear Amac is a major weakness.
With our pp being totally worthless Simmer just lost half of his on ice value. We are fortunate he wasn't extended in the summer.
The PP is worthless because Simmonds is on it. Since the Hak firing I have seen him butcher at least 10 goal scoring chances from right infront.
The guy is broken. He needs to be moved. Let Patrick take his place and hope we can get his game rolling like at the end of last year.
Does anybody know what's going on with Gostisbehere? I don't watch many Flyers games, but his statline has been very poor, even in high-scoring games. Is he not playing on the PP, or getting significant minutes? Is he expected to pick it up as the season goes on?
The PP is broken, which was a large part of his scoring. The only two people who do anything on it are Ghost and Giroux, but the rest have been awful and our PP coach is an idiot who refuses to put the right group on the ice.
They get chances, but no luck.
At 5v5 he's also been with trash partners for most of the year, guys with less than zero offense like Folin or Hagg. Plus little time with the top line and basically no line without Giroux can score.
Just not a great year but no reason for concern at all.
Some incredibly lazy and impatient fans have said they’d consider trading him, but people also wanted to trade Giroux, so you can see how stupid that kind of thinking is.
shat if the flyers were able to get quick from Los Angeles for Nuevy/3rd rounder/and a b prospect. Would we all be against that still?
I think Fletcher needs to make something happen in season because a wishlist of 1 goalie/1 top 4 defenseman/1 top six forward is hard to get in just a short few months.
Quick traded for in season.
Sign Panarin this off season
During the draft trade for Trouba or another top 4 defenseman available. Signing Karlsson might be difficult with Panarin signing.
Give the team a chance with the new lineup and then if they don’t succeed shake it up. Voracek would be the first option to be traded of course. But I’m looking for a hockey trade.
I pretty much with you. However, I'm totally fine rolling with Sanheim/Provorov/Ghost/Myers/Gudas/Morin/Hagg/Friedman to start next season.
Panarin, Frost and NAK and maybe 1 of Allison/Ratcliffe/Vorobyev as new forwards.
I think that's a contending team, and if the D still needs an upgrade I'll give up a lot to get a Muzzin or someone comparable at the TDL.
Sign me up for Panarin.
Hard to say on Quick. I have always been a fan and he's been awesome last 2 games too, posting 1.47 GAA and .949 save percentage.
I wouldn't be upset if we got him for that price at all. Just concerned with those last 2 years.
I’ll never understand the idea that if “you get Quenneville, I think we’ll get Panarin.”
I think plenty of things are more important to Panarin than playing under Q — such as warm weather.
Also, is there any evidence that Panarin has a great relationship with Q? I mean, Chicago did trade him after just two (good) seasons.
I don’t know who you are talking about with the Q reference but I’m in the boat of give him a lot of money and he will come here. Not for the coach.
Hey, I'm down for tossing in a sweetener to take Kovalchuk off LA's hands.
Also, if we don't get Panarin I'm down for throwing just as much money at Mark Stone.
That's not realistic.
I was under the impression that Panarin just wants to be in a bigger market. The two most rumored cities have been Chicago and New York, they aren’t necessarily warm.
Having Quenneville here would certainly help though.
What’s his realistic price tag? We have to think we send a goalie back if we make a deal. Especially if they want to keep hart up.
I won’t give a first but a second rounder I wouldn’t be reluctant to give up for him.
I agree with this quote. LA's front office have no reason to move him unless they are getting a quality return, which I don't think he is worth.
@Here4ThaList the other thread closed before I could get to it, but I just wanted to say that Doug Crossman is WAY out of place on that list - I realize that you called him a "whipping boy," and that was true, but he was an excellent part of that defense and played a crucial role in the run to the Finals and extending the Oilers to seven games in 1987.
I had to get that off my chest. Because when I tell people about my Crossman #3 home sweater with the #31 patch, I want them to understand why I had it lol
Man those were the days, when our most hated players were actually good. My friend hated Ilkka Sinisalo, who was freaking awesome.
