That 1st line would get eaten alive by every other 1st line in the league.

Well yeah. I wasn’t suggesting that team would win the cup. But we’re currently missing like half the most valuable players in that lineup.

Listen, I don’t smoke the best baby back ribs on earth, but if I spent eight hours smoking a bunch of racks only to see half of them fall to the ground and get eaten by the dogs, I’m still going to be bummed even if there are guys with better ribs out there.

My vote for analogy of the year.

We simply don't have a first line. We have one guy that might be able to fit on a 1st line with Keller. We definitely don't have a center that should get anywhere near a 1st line. We're lucky to have a #2. This team has spent the last decade with 3's and 4's as 1's and 2's. No we're depending on a bunch of wings to play center. Hockey the hard way.

Funny stuff, but I think he's saying that you're just throwing three of your ribs to the dogs.

My prediction for 2 weeks from now. I had Garland on the brain though. Meant Keller.
Ah! Got it!

Of course you’re completely correct. I can see it now:

“Puljujarvi, Bear and a 2nd is a great offer for Keller. Puljujarvi was drafted higher than Keller, Bear is a RHD and therefore extremely valuable and just look at what Jordan Eberle and Taylor Hall returned in trade. Certainly smaller packages and they were much more proven than Keller. In fact, I his is an overpayment and the Coyotes would be stupid not to accept.”

We are missing 6 important players, agreed, that this makes it hard to evaluate the team as a whole and the coach. With 3 wins in a row, we are getting more with less right now, Tocc gets some credit for that. We will see if it lasts, I hope it will but I doubt it.

Add Mark Stone and Michael Ferland in the summer and the roster looks great. Or Panarin :0

Stepan:
3-15-18 in 82 games with 213:14 PP TOI (3rd on team)
1-1-2 in 45 games with 122:54 PP TOI (2nd on team) --> ?

Fischer:
5-3-8 in 79 games with 170:36 PP TOI (4th on team, goals tied 2nd on team)
0-0-0 in 45 games with 87:42 PP TOI (4th on team) --> ?

Panik:
1-2-3 in 35 games with 69:20 PP TOI (7th on team)
0-2-2 in 42 games with 86:54 PP TOI (5th on team)

Perlini:
5-6-11 in 74 games with 131:10 PP TOI (6th on team, goals tied 2nd on team, points 3rd on team)
2-2-4 in 22 games with 47:07 PP TOI (9th on team, goals 5th, points tied 4th)
0-0-0 in 21 games with 3:01 PP TOI (CHI)

Strome:
1-0-1 in 21 games with 31:49 PP TOI (9th on team) - FO 11/18
3-1-4 in 20 games with 48:38 PP TOI (8th on team, goals tied 3rd, points tied 5th) - FO 24/35
1-2-3 in 23 games with 59:31 PP TOI (7th CHI) - FO 4/6

Galchenyuk:
9-15-24 in 82 games with 240:01 PP TOI (2nd on MTL, 1st goals, 1st points MTL) - FO 12/25
4-9-13 in 35 games with 110:03 PP TOI (3rd on team, goals tied 1st, points 2nd) - FO 19/47

Domi:
1-8-9 in 82 games with 213:20 PP TOI (2nd on team, points 4th) - FO 33/66
3-6-9 in 46 games with 147:42 PP TOI (2nd on MTL, points 2nd) - FO 69/133

Dvorak:
2-5-7 in 78 games with 141:25 PP TOI (5th on team, points 6th) - FO 54/105

Schmaltz:
4-9-13 in 78 games with 208:14 PP TOI (3rd CHI, points 2nd) - FO 34/83
1-0-1 in 21 games with 61:46 PP TOI (6th CHI) - FO 6/15
4-3-7 in 17 games with 60:45 PP TOI (6th AZ, goals tied 1st, points 3rd) - FO 7/20

Hinostroza:
1-4-5 in 50 games with 71:42 in PP TOI (8th CHI, 6th in points)
1-2-3 in 35 games with 54:15 in PP TOI (7th on team, 7th in points)

Garland:
3-1-4 in 18 games with 41:45 in PP TOI (10th on team, goals tied 3rd, points tied 4th)

Keller is on an upward trajectory, but just hasn't had goals like last year.

Stepan's abysmal performance on the powerplay is the biggest letdown. At least he wins faceoffs.

Fischer's is probably the 2nd biggest letdown. We needed his secondary scoring to get into a playoff spot.

Keep running Panik out there and maybe you'll get a different result, right?

Perlini is a sniper and he had success on the PP. That's where he should be used while he develops.

Strome is impressive on the dot in the PP. And he started having scoring success. Feed minutes, continued developing.

Galchenyuk is a 45-50 point winger who gets about 50% of his production consistently from the PP.

Domi has steadily improved on taking draws. His rookie PP production should have been an indicator that he could produce more.

Dvorak the jury is out, but it's hard to say if he can improve on modest numbers.

Schmaltz had impressive production last year with Chicago and awful numbers to start the year with the Hawks. Then he came here and lit it up before getting injured. What will we get when he comes back from injury?

Hinostroza hasn't really shown PP production so far.

Garland has produced as much as Strome and Perlini did this year on the PP. Can he keep it up?

Can you put this in a bubble chart?

I don't know how useful it is to compare with guys we've traded away. As we all know, the players around you have a big impact on your personal production.

Sadly this is too true. Even more depressing is the team on average is one of the highest drafting teams.

Hill sent to Tucson.

Anyone who thinks this is a surprise hasn’t been paying attention.

Well, of course he needs to play more games in the A.

I'm thinking of poor Subban in Vegas. They are ruining him. It should have been forbidden to have a goalie up this long and playing so little. Of course they know they grabbed him on waivers, and they don't dare send him down. But still.

I think it's more likely Chayka and Tocc are trading for and adding waiver fodder to scratch out wins at the end of the season to save their jobs. There will be no thought of loading up on pics while improving our draft position.

If waiver fodder gives you wins, they are good chew.

I don't follow you there.
