We need one more DWade vintage playoff game performance...here’s hoping the Heat get a playoff spot

Hopefully but it won't be easy. They were in a decent spot not too long ago but haven't had Winslow for the last 8 games and now Richardson is out as well. This team can't afford injuries to key rotation players and especially to their two best wing defenders. They were playing Duncan Robinson, who just came up from the G-League, over 20 mins the other day because they needed a wing shooter.

devin booker is a stud. hate to see him playing for nothing in phoenix
Agreed about Booker. If they get Morant though it will be interesting. A backcourt of Morant and Booker with Ayton at C is a fantastic core.

It's almost like one team is a contender and perennial one at that and one team has traded away its 4 biggest stars in the past 4ish years.

There is still 0 reason to celebrate like that for clinching a playoff spot.

I mean there’s lots of reasons to. Yeah they probably won’t get far but it’s a huge moral victory. Also for a team with such a young group of guys it’s huge. A majority of their young guys haven’t made the playoffs yet. Getting that experience is huge.

Kings beat San Antonio in their barn on the back end of a back to back.

They haven't quit at any point this season. Bodes well going forward.

The NBA and the Mavs were made aware of this before he was traded too.

Given how pro-PC the commissioner's office is, this leads me to believe the whole "it's extortion!" angle gains a bit more traction as there's no way Silver and the league wouldn't have jumped in front of this if it was a more serious situation.

The latest information makes it look like a pretty clear extortion attempt

Here is most absurd part of story that has many absurd aspects

In the handwritten letter that she described as a contractual agreement with Porzingis for payment of $68,000 -- a copy of which was obtained by ESPN -- Porzingis' name is misspelled and it is unclear whether the signature belongs to him.

In the alleged agreement, the woman wrote: "This agreement effective February 7, 2018, acknowledges the fact that an unexpected escalated sexual intercourse due to an inevitable physical attraction on the part of Kristap (sic) occurred subsequently, warrants compensation payable towards (the woman's) siblings college tuition in the amount of $68,000. …

" ... Mr. Kristap (sic) willingly offered several compensations to (the woman) including business investments. (The woman) ultimately settled with Mr. Kristap's (sic) offer of a $68,000 check."
In a statement to ESPN on Sunday, Riopelle said: "Mr. Porzingis denies signing the alleged contract, which we believe is a forgery. When asked to produce the original contract for handwriting analysis, the complainant declined to do so."

Also his attorney is providing all the evidence they previously provided Feds with regard to situation

Bilas: Zion would be a top-50 NBA player right now

Jay Bilas says if Zion Williamson were to enter the NBA right now, he would instantly be one of the best 50 players in basketball.

IT HAPPENED IT REALLY HAPPENED

I still laugh at your posts constantly propping the Wizards up as Eastern Conference contenders based off one year. The players also brought in and constantly talked such despite finishing with 8th seed and no playoffs the last two years!

Now now, don't be so rash. Once that GM shows he can actually do something then we'll see if it's safe to start bandwagoning. It's not like the Wizards were any good with GM's prior to Ernie (remember the awful ass 80's and 90's teams, remember WES UNSELD GM? Michael Jordan?) Again, drafting Zion would be a start but just building a team around Wall and Beal that can make the playoffs regularly would be helpful. We need power forwards and centers. No Culver, doesn't fit a need. Hope like hell you get Zion and if they don't get someone else to enforce the paint
Wall and Beal are two of the best guards in the Eastern Conference. This is known fact. Trying to trade or give up on them is stupid.
