disagree there.

2nd and 3rd line have been pretty good by my memory.

PP sucks.

Talbot sucks.

Defense is not a threat. to score.....but glimpses of decency at the back.

..... ;)

Good in what terms? McDavid off the ice at even strength, we have been outscored 44 to 35. 36 to 26 in our favor when McDavid is on the ice. Good teams get around 50% of goals with their best player off the ice. This year has actually been better than usual for sure, the McDavid off numbers have improved since Hitch started coaching the team, but still not good enough to be anywhere near a contender. Bubble playoff team at best.

Of course, need to keep perspective of the current situation. Everyone is getting hammered right now since we only really have 2 NHL regular quality D playing every night. Still, problem has been there longer than these last couple weeks.

Teams defend McDavid (and only McDavid) when he's on the ice......imo they don't really try to score.

That is why the coaches put him with Drai or RNH so there is someone else to give the puck to.

I dunno, McDavid usually plays against the best on the other team most nights. The days of a defense only checking line have gone by the wayside for the most part.

Sort his opposition by ice time:

Connor McDavid - Opposition - On Ice - Natural Stat Trick

Skip past the goalies, it's basically a list of all the best players for each given team. McDavid is occupying the best offensive forwards and the best D on every team during his ice time, and on average outscores them. Not sure how much more you can ask of a guy. The rest of the lineup gets to play against 2nd and 3rd pair D, and 2nd,3rd,4th liners, and they pretty consistently lose their battle.

oops, this isn't too positive in the positivity thread.

Ummm, GO OILERS! WOO!

I guess.

I seem to remember Strome being an even player....and now Brodziak seems to be doing pretty good. And RNH has been having a good year. Drai maybe not so much at 2c.....

Maybe a D issue.....or just clownshoes reffing.

We are in the playoffs and fully in the race at Christmas! We have 1 of our 3 injured D set to return soon, another returning probably a couple weeks after that in Sekera and Klefbom a couple weeks after that. If we are still in 7th or 8th place come the end of January we are set for a nice run into February and March. That assumes we get better than average goaltending...one of McDavid, RNH or Draisatl doesn't get hurt...Chaisson's goalscoring heater doesn't fizzle out...but hey this is the positivity thread so thinking positive!
