Not a bad number considering New England was watching baseball for the entire time hockey was on and Calgary does nothing for NBC.

Worst times are coming. In October and November we will see on NBCSN only "no one cares matches" like Toronto-Winnipeg, Edmonton-Florida etc.
Critical inflection point year for TV ratings, they need big numbers this year leading up to the start of negotiations in the 2019-20 season. I expected that Bruins-Flames game to get 200k+. It won't look good if NBC Sports airs these extra games and ratings don't budge or at worse decrease. I'm hoping the extra NBC game helps boost ratings. It should be a goal for Bettman to get at least 20 games on NBC as part of the next deal.

Bruins were going to get clobbered going head to head with a pivotal MLB playoff game for the Red Sox.
Add in the hockey game started at 9:46 PM in the east that even if there was no Red Sox game a lot of fans still go to bed.
People on the Bruins board grumble if a game starts at 7:35.....
No I understand but I just thought that with the Bruins being one of the stronger markets like Chicago we'd be able to get a stronger number and hold our own. Maybe I should temper my expectations some.

If hockey has started earlier the number would have been better.
The hockey game started badly for the Bruins and on the Boston board at HF the Red Sox GDT was more active then hockey.

You are desperately reaching and defensive. Get over it I have went on record that NHL will get $400-500 mil yr deal. I think MLS will get $300-450 mil yr. For some reason you feel threatened by MLS and can't let it go. I've explained why I think MLS gets that much it has the advantage of rising ratings and multiple TV partners. I think NHL will benefit because it's a bulk buy and the SC playoffs especially the later rounds provide good TV for any network. Get over your MLS hangup what ever it is you keep harping on it?? Nothing I said about MLS isn't true $100 mil a yr x 3 networks nets them $300 mil a yr not too far fetched. Anyway back to NHL $400-500 mil yr book it unless regular season TV numbers implode.
