Denver waived Nick Young.

from sportsnet.ca:

The Denver Nuggets have waived veteran guard Nick Young with several players starting to return to health.

Young was signed earlier this month with the Nuggets missing several starters because of injuries. Forward Paul Millsap returned following a broken big toe in Saturday’s win in Phoenix. Guard Will Barton (hip/core surgery) and guard Gary Harris (hip) are inching closer to a return as well.

The 33-year-old Young played in four games with Denver and averaged 2.3 points. Nuggets president of basketball operations Tim Connelly thanked Young for his contributions. Connelly says in a statement that Young "immediately fit in with our group and did everything that was asked of him."

Damn what a game from Jusuf, that slash line is insane to see.

PS

Nuggets are a bunch of absolute morons for trading him. Imagine having him and Jokić up front.

Would they be able to make it work together on the floor?

I see no reason why not. They play different games and you can rotate them to have each of them play 32mins per game. Jokić is finesse, cerebral, great passer, soft touch, can play 4. Jusuf is brute force but still has a soft touch, good passing game, can protect the rim, good movement etc.

In either case, trading him for Plumlee and then playing Plumlee 6mins more than you played Jusuf was idiotic back then and it looks even worse now when he established himself as a really good player in the NBA. I mean the stat line he just posted has never been posted in the NBA, 20+ points, 20+ boards, 7 assists, 5 steals, 5 blocks. Those are video game numbers.

They weren't. And Nurkic pouted about not getting enough touches.

Nuggets never made a consistent effort in trying to get those two on the court on a consistent basis. And he pouted with good reason, not for not getting enough touches, but because he wasn't being used enough. He played little over 17mins per game, same as guys like Hickson, 8mins less than Faried, less than stalwarts such as Laverngue and Arthur etc.

Plumlee is a way better fit on the Nuggets. They don't need to completely change their offense when Jokic sits.

And Nurk is still inconsistent as hell. What was that line he had a few weeks ago, 1/15 from the field?

That makes no sense. First of all, I don't agree at all he is a better fit, secondly, even if he is you don't trade a superior player for a dime dozen piece period.

And yeah, he had an ugly game a little while ago shooting wise. So what? He still got 10 boards and made his presence felt defensively with 2 steals and 3 blocks. Players have cold nights shooting wise, this season he scored in single digits 7 times (fun fact, Jokić has the same number of games where he scored single digits, 4 of them in a row) and has broken the 20 point mark 10 times. In the games he scored in single digits he played really poorly in back to back games against Heat and the Pacers. In other games his shot wasn't falling he always put up good rebounding numbers, solid assist numbers, blocks and/or steals to help the team.

That inbound play from Simmons against the Clippers was disrespectful and he should have at least gotten a T for it.
