My hot take for these prospect polls: St.Ivany will jump up at least 10 spots next year. All of this is based on a gut feeling so take it with a grain of salt, but for some reason my gut has been pretty accurate lately (glaring omission being Laberge).

I guess Wylie here but honestly who even knows at this point

Westfalt has everything needed to be a NHL player, size, skill, smart, except skating.
He's not Strome bad from all reports, more like a certain Swedish 5th rd pick who dropped for the same reason.

Martel has improved every season since we signed him.

Aside from age and size, how does an extreme long shot like Westfalt get votes over Martel, who was leading the AHL in goals last season before breaking his jaw?

I guess 5'8 matters.

Easy. Martel's track record says he's unlikely to make the NHL, for example, Weal outperformed him at every level at the same age by a sizeable margin.
He had two mediocre seasons in the Q, then had a big season in what would have been his D+2 season.
His first two AHL seasons were decent, but nothing special, and while the broken jaw was part of his problem last year, so was coming to earth from an unsustainable shot %. He's basically been around a 0.65 ppg player in the AHL. Good but nothing special.

Now add in the fact that he's grossly undersized at 5'8 and 167, and plays down to his size, and it's hard to see him succeeding in the NHL.

Westfalt played 31 games in the SHL (turned 18 last March), after a fine start in SuperElite J20.
While he didn't do much in the SHL, that's normal for young players who get limited duty their first time around.
Superelite, 26g 12-15 27, U18 (all) 17g 4-1 5, SHL 31g 1-3 4
Lindblom, the season before he was drafted (5 months younger than Westfalt, 17 all year):
Superelite 43g 13-20 33, U18 (all) 20g 10-11 21

6'3 203 at 18, smart, high work ethic, solid skill package, while he might not have as much upside, very similar to Lindblom in that he has a similar package and performance at the same age, and the same questions about his skating.

Wylie, because he's a right handed defenseman.

He’s going to shoot up the list by this time next year. Very good in the transition game, high hockey IQ, and the majority of his shots end up on net.

I think he’s fine as depth, but when I watched him I’m somewhat skeptical he has another gear to his game. This will be his age 19 year too. I don’t think he plays with much creativity or puck poise. Just quick plays; gets simpler and safer under pressure. Doesn’t really use his legs to skate pucks. Tentative and safe in offensive zone. A smart, righty, who plays a responsible game is certainly a nice organizational piece. Just not sure he has the game to have some meteoric rise on our board.

Voted Vasiliev because apparently he has developed into a top-4 KHL defenseman and therefore reached a level close to his ceiling which is more than most of the remaining options will ever achieve

I just can't see Martel ever making to the NHL. Too small. I hope he proves me wrong.

Vasilyev is a hard one. He is propably already a better player than most on the prospects list but will he ever make the move to NHL? I doubt it. This severely decreases his value as a prospect.

Rise, as in, 26 to 20. Should’ve been a little more clear there. My bad.

I wish he was the KHL dman looking to come over, rather than the wife beater.
