I repeat, Jeff freaking Lank. Dude was once upon a time a top five prospect for this club. He was a stay-at-homer with a "heavy" shot that was a draft re-entry that we "nabbed" in the 9th round. He played 2 NHL games.

Anyone who doubts Hextall should take a look at this list.
One top four defenseman (Ghost), 2 #6/#7 defensemen (Manning, Hagg), 2 4th line forwards (Laughton, Cousins), and some "cup of coffee guys" (Leier, McGinn, Alt).
And people wonder why the rebuild has taken 5 years?

I remember Jeff Lank and Brian Wesenberg well. I remember Wesey playing one game with the Flyers and looking like an out-of-balance doofus in a fight. I believe they both won a Calder Cup on that veteran Phantoms team.

How about the year when Rob Bellamy was our first pick of the draft, in the 3rd round? Or the days when we hoped Jon Kalinski would get a long look with the big club. Like many others, he ended up being the Brian Dobbin of the 2000's.

Bob was a Lavy-made DISASTER. Kid was great and he gutted him after one shaky playoff start. Maroon just wasn't mature enough to actually get in shape.

I don't get the Kase love:

19/20 - 37g 3-6 9 top Czech league
20/21 - 44g 9-14 23 SHL - Lindblom was putting up similar numbers at 18.
Westfalt didn't turn 18 until March, yet played 31 games in the SHL He's 3 years younger than Kase.

Point is while Kase has made steady progress, he's not that young anymore, I don't even see him ahead of say Sushko, who was solid in juniors and outstanding in the WJC-20.

Yeah I will also I can't put hogberg ahead of Friedman i think they both have 5-6 upside but Friedman really played well for the phantoms the 2nd half of the season.

Went Kase. I think Noah Cates can be in the upcoming discussions. Really good USHL season, first year in college coming up. Invited to summer WJC team.

While it was Dev camp, he looked good there also.

Not only did people vote Hagg above Ghost, he got a larger % of the 3rd place vote than Ghost got of the 4th place vote.
