Pompey had a late winner in Round 2 off a deflection.

Leaders in League 1 vs Leaders in the Championship. Should be a good test for Portsmouth. :)

Arsenal got a fortunate draw to say the least. Another good match to get some young talent game time

Liverpool got by far the worst draw out of the Top 6 teams. Again. 2nd worst of all the PL teams (besides Wolves) They have been getting rough draws Domestically for a while now.

Getting @ Chelsea in the Carabao Cup was the reason that last run of fixtures was so rough. Liverpool really need some silverware and still think FA Cup is their best chance, but they really could have used an easier opponent.

This is what there next month looks like:

December:
  • 05 Burnley (A)
  • 08 AFC Bournemouth (A)
  • 11 Napoli (H)
  • 16 Manchester United (H)
  • 21 Wolverhampton Wanderers (A)
  • 26 Newcastle United (H)
  • 29 Arsenal (H)
JANUARY
  • 03 Manchester City (A)
  • W05 Wolverhampton (A)
  • 12 Brighton & Hove Albion (A)
Really tough run of games including some very hard aways. And they just ran a gauntlet too. Doubt any other team has anything close to that.

Yep, they need to lose so they can go off on breaks to Spain between league matches. Those helped keep the squad very energized last season.

Chong and Garner on the bench for United. Darmian at CB. Would think Chong will make his debut at some point. Hopefully both.

Solskjaer said he should be ok. Poor performance even with 9 changes. VAR assisted penalty for a foul on Mata, his touch went through to Fred who scored but was flagged for offside. Midfield of Fred, Pereira and McTominay was ineffective. Reading had more possession and played well.

I'll miss Cesc. What a fantastic player he was for the Blues. IMO he should've been named captain after JT left. Maybe he'd still be wearing a Chelsea shirt.
