Man that must have been a hell of a tough pill to swallow for Florida. Losing game 7 with a shorthanded goal in the final minutes? How do you let that happen? Yeeesh!

Something about their championship celebration with the fans (on Aves Snapchat) seems incredibly weird and awkward.

Avalanche will have a new ECHL affiliate but wasn’t ready to announce yet. There are a few ECHL clubs who have affiliation vacancies such as Orlando and Greenville but the Avalanche could just as easily share an affiliation with another NHL club as many do.

Solar Bears, sign me up!!

Solar Bears and the Swamp Rabbits? God damn, do I ever love ECHL team names

They really do put NHL team names to shame.

Still not as good as the Pune Warriors, the Rising Pune Supergiant, the Kochi Tuskers, & the Kolkata Knight Riders.

...but they're getting there...

Big huge no to Solar Bears and Swamp Rabbits for me. Other than the name or jerseys, there is nothing positive about having your ECHL affiliate 3000 miles away from your AHL team. My guess is Utah, Idaho, Rapid City or Allen.

I don't think it's that big a deal if the AA affiliate is a ways away. A vast majority of the ECHL is still located in the east even though they've ceased to call themselves the "East Coast Hockey League." Having the Eagles nearby where there's a lot more player movement is much more important.

Ideally they'd find a place in southern CO or the front range for the Cutthroats and bring them back, but alas...

Yeah after I wrote that I kind of had 2nd thoughts about the distance thing. I just have a personal vendetta against Orlando, lol.

Yes, it would be great to have the Cutthroats back nearby. Maybe Wyoming? Eagles owner Martin Lind has an ECHL team that could be for sale.........
