I really hope I'm able to make it down to one of the games if played on a weekend. A deep playoff run would do wonders for the kids who are fighting for spots next year. (Plus Eakins probably)

A lot of experienced players on the team, including guys who have had success at the NHL level. I think this team has a chance to do a lot of damage.

I would have a lot more confidence if Terry were there. Even without him, I think they should still beat San Jose. However, if they get Bakersfield in the next round, that will be a huge obstacle.

The Gulls look to be playing a trap rather than attacking tonight. They’re not getting much offensive pressure. The goal against was a bad defensive breakdown and a great move by the Barracuda player.

Megna and Benoit take delay of game penalties seconds apart. San Jose capitalizes early in the 5 on 3, but then Steel feeds De Leo to convert shorthanded. 2-1 early in the 2nd.

San Jose adds another to make it 3-1 after 2. Gulls had back to back powerplays and barely missed the net on a few different chances.

Looks like Kopacka is back in, Murphy goes back to defense, and Dotchin is out, meaning the Gulls have 5 left handed defensemen.

Murphy makes a dumb giveaway that leads to a Barracuda goal 3 minutes in. Gulls had a good chance on a powerplay but they were unsuccessful. They really miss Terry on that powerplay. Down 1-0 early in the 1st.

Jones feeds Carrick who takes it behind the net and finds Steel in front of the net and he scores to tie the game at 1 with 38 seconds left in the 1st.

Gulls up 3-2 after 2. Street scored a PP goal, then De Leo scored a pretty goal at even strength. San Jose added a goal after a few lucky bounces to cut the deficit to 1. Gulls have carried the play thus far, and could easily have 2 or 3 more goals.
From the forwards, I've particularly liked Steel, Street, Carrick, De Leo, and Kloos.

Good to hear that Steel is having an overwhelmingly positive impact on these playoffs. After his successful stint in the NHL, I expected him to dominate and take over these games at times.

Really a shame Terry isn't here, he's the difference between an expectation to potentially win it and a favorite to win the Calder Cup, IMO.

Steel races down the ice to beat out an icing, allowing Sherwood to center the puck to Cracknell who put it into an empty net to seal the game at 4-2. Gulls outshot the Barracuda 36-22 in by far their most complete game of the series. I also have to mention that Jeff Glass made 2 AMAZING saves in the 3rd. I thought the Welinski-Benoit pairing was fantastic. One player that I have been very disappointed in is Kossila, so many plays have died on his stick in the offensive zone. Gulls can move on if they win game 4 on Wednesday.

I thought Kossila was totally ineffective in game 2, also. Expected a lot more from him.
