Recent news:

Gulls sign C Tyler Soy (ANA 2016 7th, #205) and LW Ben Thomson to 1-year AHL deals. San Diego's roster is currently at 3 goalies, 10 defensemen (also counting one of Larsson/Pettersson) and 19 forwards.

Gulls announce their 18-19 coaching staff: Brett Ferguson (former video coach), Sylvain Lefebvre and David Urquhart become Eakins' new assistant coaches.

Not sure if this is official info, but Kalle Kossila, Sam Carrick, Steve Oleksy and Jaycob Megna are listed with an "A". As far as I know, no captain has been named.

The Gulls are playing a preseason game right now. Larsson is suited up, so I guess he's been sent down. Ben Thomson (from Oleksy and Dostie) and Deven Sideroff (from Gazdic) have the only goals of the game so far as it's 2-0 after 1 (and the Gulls have a 16-5 shot advantage. I'll try to find lineups somewhere and post them.

With 13 players currently on San Diego’s training camp roster, the Gulls except to receive an influx of players from Anaheim later this morning to fill out the roster for today’s contest. With two days of practice under their belt, the focus will quickly turn to preparing for the team’s first game, albeit a different preparation with a 10 a.m. puck drop.

Gulls lose in a 13 round shootout. Goals by Thomson, Sideroff, Fiore. Mahura and Sideroff scored in the shootout. I saw Larsson, Mahura, and Welinski all too shootout attempts. I'm not sure if they were just playing with them to make a full roster, or if they all got sent down already.

I don't believe they can play in a Gulls preseason game without being formally sent down. Since they don't require waivers, it doesn't matter too much.

Sideroff caught himself on the net going around it on the PK, came up holding his forearm and went right to the locker room.
