Thanks again to everyone who participated, especially to the end. How did the list turn out? Who is too high, too low? Any predictions for risers or graduations on the next year's list?

What's the games played cutoff for graduation off that list? Because as awesome as that prospect list looks, Compher, Jost, Lindholm, Mironov, and Bigras all have a good chance to play a full season here (individually), with an outside chance of Greer in there too. If we graduate all those guys it's going to take another solid draft to make next year's list look nearly as good.

Still think Jost should be number one easily.

Things got a little muddled from 8-12 imo. I pushed Shvyryov as hard as anyone but he probably ended up too high and Martin could have been top 10 too.

I think Jost's ceiling keeps him at 2. I don't see a first liner there, so that hurts in comparison to Makar who is way riskier, but has a high ceiling. I believe Martin needs to show a bit more as a starter. The talent is there, but consistency and his mental strength were called into question last year. I think he needs to step up in those areas before moving back into the top 10.

There are a few here or there that I think are off, but I don't think it is that far off. Anderson should probably get a bit more love.

I've already said my opinion, no need to spam it here even what was in the white font. ;) I will say that I dislike the top half, but like the bottom half.

Haha, your level of self control is impressive. We definitely gave some extra love to the depth guys who are close to being in the NHL.

No list is ever perfect but what I would change other than minor not picks are: Werner and Kvaca should have been voted in near eachother. Same with Mironov and Lindholm. I know some of it is due to getting more prospects in the early 10s range but Boikov had a good year and went down 7 spots is funny. Nantel shouldn't have gone that far down either even if 10 was a bit too high last year.

65 NHL games or turned 24 during the year will graduate guys. So yeah, we might have quite a few prospects exiting next year.

I wouldn't change too much about the list, really. Drop Shvyrov down, Morrison and Martin up, but overall I think it shakes out pretty close to where it should be.

I'm higher than most on Jost, as I do see 1st line potential in him. But I have mo problem with Makar at #1. Good problem to have.

Bigras and Meloche should be swapped (but not a big deal), as should JCB and Martin (bigger deal, and maybe slide JCB ahead of Morrison), Seimens should be 18, with Kvaca right behind him. And Werner should at least be an HM.

IMO, and admittedly from long distance scouting (when possible).

Assuming we consider JTC/Jost/Kerfy/Girard graduates this would be my current top 5.

1. Cale Makar
2. Shane Bowers
3. Conor Timmins
4. AJ Greer
5. Nic Meloche

Most will probably put Timmins ahead of Bowers, but I love em.

Makar - obvious
Timmins -very, very impressed with him
Greer - I put him over Shane because pro game > NCAA.
Bowers - very happy with his game.
Meloche

Shvy? You really are that high on him?

Yeah... I'll be the outlier though. He's incredibly skilled and I think his game will mature nicely, but I don't know if he will ever come over. That is more of the question for me than anything else about his game. The kid can really play.

Yea, him coming over is a long shot, but what also has me worried is his development on Magnitka.

Shyvryov didn't seem to be even close to being an option for the Russian junior team. I'm not going to pretend to know much about him and I know he has a high ceiling but what about him could put him anywhere near the conversation of those other 4 in your top 5? @henchman24

I think he has an elite offensive skill set. He is creative, has a good shot, amazing hands, etc. The potential is there for him to be a very high, high level player. I wouldn't worry about the Russian junior team thing, they have just as much politics as any other country and Bragin is not a fan of Shvy... at all.

FTR I know I'm the outlier here. I've seen enough of this kid to believe in his skill set. To me his ability is the least of my worries, it is about getting him out of Russia.

Right now, with JTC/Jost/Girard/Kerf/etc. still considered prospects, my list would look like this:

1. Makar
2. JTC
3. Girard
4. Timmins
5. Jost
6. Bowers
7. Kamenev
8. Kerfoot
9. Lindholm
10. Meloche
11. Greer
12. Shvyryov
13. Toninato
14. Beaudin
15. Lewis
16. Mironov
17. Bigras
18. Smirnov
19. Morrison
20. Leivermann

Valuing NHL projections more so with this list. For example I think Beaudin, Morrison, and Bigras probably have more NHL upside, but I like Toninatos likelihood of being an NHLer far more. He already looked solid as a 4C option IMO, and can see 3C upside in a year or two. Same thing with Lindholm over Meloche. The fact Lindholm is an NHL regular already and doing relatively well at it is why I have him above Meloche despite Meloche likely having higher pure upside.

Obviously some exceptions to it. Like I am a big fan of Leivermann and his NHL upside is pretty huge. But he's also extremely raw right now and likely 4-5 years away from having any sort of impact, so he's lower on the list for me because of that. And Makar isn't NHL ready or anything either but his upside is so ridiculously high(I literally dont think he has a ceiling) that in his case he trumps everyone because of that potential.

Watching Makar and Timmins at the WJC. I've expanded the list of Top 10 prospects.

1. Makar
2. Timmins
3. Bowers
4. Kamenev
5. Greer
6. Lewis
7. Meloche
8. Shvyrov
9. Baron
10. Smirnov

Honorable mention: Leivermann, Morrison, Toninato & Henry.
Dropoffs: Bigras, Mironov & Siemans

Prospect pool will be getting deeper with the 2018 & 2019 with high end picks.
