Well here was my stab at a mock draft - all 7 rounds and using all of our picks.

#12 Kristian Vesalainen
#42 Filip Chytil
#52 Cale Fleury
#62 Joni Ikonen
#67 Marcus Davidsson
#73 Jonas Rondbjerg
#104 Tommy Miller
#142 Dayton Rasmussen
#166 Nick Perbix
#197 Corey Andonovski

Ended up w/6 forwards, 3 defensemen, and 1 goalie. Lots of Northern Europeans...

The more and more I read about the prospects likely to be available at #12, the more I think I'll he happy regardless of who they pick. I can't say there is one prospect that has blown me away, just a bunch of prospects that I really like. With the exception of the purely offensive defensemen like Makar, I wouldn't have a problem with anyone generally ranked in the top 20-25 being the pick at #12.

I feel like every year we talk about these mid round guys, and people post their mocks, and we get a number of surprises and unknowns. Outside of Kuokkanen and Gauthier, I feel like there was no talk about most of our other picks prior to the draft last year. I feel like it goes that way most years.

I'd love to get both Ikonen and Davidsson, but I'm guessing two 2nds will be needed as most projections have them going in the second round.

Yeah, it really is funny doing one of these things, especially when you consider what other team's needs are.

I reached a bit for Vesalainen, have really gotten interested in Chytil, and had a tough choice between Rondbjerg and Texier. I'm also big on the younger Fleury.

I think Fleury is more of a third rounder, but if there a good pick. But as a RHD, I'd take Luke Martin first in that late second/early third range.

He's really all over the map. Anywhere from early 2nd to late 4th.

I like Martin too, but there are concerns about his offensive capabilities. Still he's a smooth skater with size. I liked Fleury a little better because he captained that dumpster fire of a Kootenay team and ended up playing in all situations. Plus he's got a little bit of an edge to him.

Michigan's defense as a unit were pretty bad this year, so I am not concerned about Martin's lack of production as he was not playing with consistent partners.

Another name to watch for us in the later rounds is Josh Wilkins, who is a Raleigh native who went to Providence. He attended our prospect camp last season. Put up 31 points in 39 games as essentially a redshirt freshman if such a thing exists in hockey. Scouting services have him ranked and it's possible we use a late pick on him. Wouldn't mind him anywhere beyond the 4th, really.

If we keep the picks, i guess something like:

#12/ Lias Andersson or Martin Necas
#42/ Marcus Davidson or Robin Salo
#52/ Nick Henry, Cale Fleury, Aleksi Heponiemi or Stelio Mattheos

Okay, I'll play (I've already posted my picks from a mock)....but here's where I'm at this AM:

#12 Nick Suzuki or Michael Rasmussen (outside shot at Owen Tippett)
#42 Jesper Boqvist or Adam Ruzicka (Jaret Anderson-Dolan if still there)
#52 Scott Reedy or Cale Fleury (or Luke Martin)

Big fan of Reedy. I'd love Suzuki (still prefer Andersson and especially Necas over him) but i doubt Kings pass on him. Looks like their type of player.

Big fan of Pierre-Oliver Joseph but there's no chance he fall to #42. Luke Martin is another interesting name around us.

Yamamoto falling to #42 would be excellent. I'd trade #42 and #52 to take him late 1st.

not me, too many good quality assets still out there to give up a 2 for 1 for a smallish guy like that. Way too many other options....

Screw the size, his pure skill is unmatched in this draft (maybe Hischier is the only guy I put on his level). You trade two seconds in a heartbeat if you can move up to grab him, along with whoever you take a #12.
