So a guy some had rated in the top-5 last year, but had a pretty meh year, rated by most people in the late 1st, early 2nd now.

I never really liked guys that fall like that in their draft year. It usually doesn't turn out well.

basically sounds like Lazar, and we all know how well that went

Put a lot of work into scouting this year's draft crop. Feel pretty confident in this list. Even more confident that we'll be able to get a quality player at 28, should we decide to stay there.

Michael Rasmussen shouldn't be in the top ten.

Yes he should.

6'6 centers with top 6 talent shouldn't go outside of the top 10.

It's not about their production at 17, it's about their production at 25. Rasmussen could be molded into a hell of a player.

Not 6'5 power play specialists. There's much better players that you ranked below him.

You can't mold a player into something he's not. Rasmussen is nothing like Logan Brown who actually has other skills in his toolbox other than just parking himself in front of the net and out muscling 16 - 20 year olds who are half his size.

Anyone else wanting the 2 seconds or some form of trade down? Id rather add guys in bulk than wanting anyone in paticular

Again, it's not the production at 17 that matters, it's the production at 25. Rasmussen has the tools to produce numbers at the NHL level. He's got a great shot, good hands and good skating. His big 6'6 frame will allow him to score a lot of goals in front of the net.

His even strength production is worrying, but his PP production shouldn't be tossed aside. Kid would be a tremendous asset in front of the net on the PP at the NHL level as well.

You'd think a Sens fan would appreciate a player that can produce on the PP after this season.

Our prospect pool needs some RD, and while I'm in the camp of draft the BPA, I'd like to see us grab a RD or two in this draft. Maybe trade down if the guy we targeted with our first isn't available.

I'm also interested in a couple of the high skill guys that might slip to us because of size issues. Not a big fan of drafting goalies with a first round pick, but given how late our pick is this year, I'd be ok with that too.

I am hoping for the BFA, i.e. best forward available. We should be set on defense for a while, we need to come out of this draft with forwards with potential (offensive potential) and a goalie that could be a starter

I wouldn't call myself a draft expert but I'll give my input on this with my top 5 for our pick:

1. Jake Oettinger- Best goalie in the draft by a fair margin. Excellent size, great athleticism, calm cool and collected. Has all the tools to be a top end goalie in the league. Biggest issue with him is his puck handling, but as we know from Andy, thats not a big deal.

2. Josh Norris- Reliable two-way center. A Colin White like pick, good size and skating. Not the flashiest player but really solid in all aspects.

3. P-O Joseph- A mobile LHD considered one of the best defensive defencemen in the draft. Personally think he has a lot more offensive potential, probably won't be around at our pick, but theres a chance.

4. Kole Lind- Pesky RWer with decent height just needs to fill out a bit more. Good playmaker and good IQ. Biggest knock people have on him is he is almost a year older then other draft eligibles.

5. Max Comtois- A more defensive center who works his a** off 110% of the time. decent shot, needs to work on consistency and skating to be an effective bottom 6 NHLer

Thanks!

I have so little time these days that a post like this helps me get a better idea. I haven't followed the draft much this year compare to almost every other year. I put the little "NHL time" I had in the expansion draft.
