And there’s always the trade down option. Not that I would want that. But regardless of what player you want, the lower the pick, the better.

Rangers leave the tracker. The other 3 teams did jack shit.

Team - Games - Points (Row)

23. CHI - 54 - 56 (24)

24. FLA - 52 - 52 (21)
25. DET - 53 - 51 (17)
26. EDM - 53 - 50 (21)
27. MTL - 54 - 50 (20)

28. VAN - 55 - 48 (21)
29. OTT - 53- 47 (17)

Another 8 points out there tomorrow.

Hoping Chicago gets a win. Prefer to only track the other 6 teams. If Ottawa wins they’ve come a long way up and 3rd worst is certainly in reach now. Still a lot of games to play and I don’t think that Detroit will end up the worst of the 6. But time will tell.

When we get to the last quarter of the season I’ll flip the numbers (1,2,3,4....) to proper resemble a tank tracker.

Detroit currently has a 2.5% chance to make the playoffs. They would need the equivalency of 20 wins out of 29 games to have a coin flip to get in.

Not happening.

We need so many things that if our pick doesn't bust we win regardless of whether we got a puck-moving defenseman or a sniper wing. I'd prefer the defenseman, though.

If we don't get Dahlin, I'd take forward with a TOP2-3 pick and then a defenceman with the another 1st got from trades.

Hey, Ottawa and Buffalo helped us with a 3 point game.

f***in' Rangers are serious about tanking though.
Carolina back to old tricks

Arizona whomping the Canadiens.

Chicago in a freefall. Edmonton all in for Dahlin?

I heard Paul Woods crying about how Pierre Dorion was talking about rebuilding, and how NHL GMs should never try and rebuild, and how they should never sell off assets.

Woods is a dolt.

The wings are certainly climbing the ranks. With a win tonight they are looking at the 10 spot for a pick.

Good to see the team still fighting. Lots of good character on the team. I'd be embarrassed if I was a Chicago fan to see the Wings once again being the better team. Chicago's next 10 years look miserable.

7/13 last night. I’ve even working 84 hours a week so I’ve been crashing out before the late games are over so I’ve been slack on the updates. If anyone wants to update if you see the slack.... give ‘er.

I was thinking... after the trade deadline we’ll have 20 Games remaining and possibly a different looking team. Maybe ramp this tracker up then.

As for now, Detroit sits in the 7 OA spot. 7 points out of the playoffs. They’ve won their away from the lower pack. They’ve got 7 out of a possible 10 points in the last 5 Games. As just mentioned, gotta admire the fight they have but eek. Relax.

They are in a group of teams that hold the 7th to 10th overall picks.

We’ll see how it looks at the deadline.

Waiting for the Chicago rebuild tweet.

In more relevant news, they won tonight, along with FLA and VAN, making it a so-so night for the tank. We're still at 7th. Arizona has won 4 in a row and EDM is now 6pts out of last in the conference ... yikes.

The Rangers have apparently taken a solemn vow to never win again.

they were one of the most offensivley talented teams in the last few years. not individually, but as a collective group. Now they are just falling apart and are obviousley tanking. Poor lundquist still has to start every game. AV is throwing in the towel

When did this turn into a Blackhawks thread?

Page 4, post #98 seems to have triggered the discussion, prior to that it was just brief mention's of Chicago's freefall in the standings

Chicago is just mediocre right now because the cap hasn't risen enough to offset Kane and Toews' contracts.

Detroit is Chicago minus the talent but even more expensive.

Not to mention the massive difference in quality in the divisions they play in. 5 teams in the central are going to make the playoffs vs. the Atlantic and their crew of flunkies.

If you think Chicago's future looks bleak, then i can't even begin to imagine how terrible Detroit's future looks.

Rough night for the tank:

Edmonton let in a goal in the last min or would of went to OT.

Florida outshot the leafs and lost 1-0

Montreal had the lead late and lost in OT

Vancouver leading by 1 in second period
