That difference is the 2 extra games would need to be wins, giving 100 points on the season

Yea, I think this is the minimum goal of course. I am sure Babs wants more than the 96 points. But the idea here is that this breakdown simply provides a way to divide the game into manageable segments and not get overwhelmed by looking too far out.

Agreed!

I've been waiting for Babs to mention the segments but I have not heard a peep so far. I realized he was hoping for more out of the gate. No reason to set the bar too low when ur shooting for more than 96!

I expect the segment talk from babs to start when the grind starts. The west coast swing and a stop in St. Luey will be a time to bring this up!

this is true. 6 points in 5 games is a 96 pace (which is good start) but that should be the minimum now, not the standard.

I'm hoping we get a win against St. Louis, but the Leafs tend to lose on my birthday. Hoping that's the Leafs of old and we wrap up segment 3 with a big 2 points. I know we can win against those teams on the West Coast as long as we play our game and dictate possession.

Segment 3 will be interesting forsure even tho SJ and ANA are either not as good as previously or currently banged up. I want to see how this team plays on the road against some heavy western teams.

Segment 9 and 10 is the best part of our schedule.

That month we only play 12 games in total.

Only one back to back the entire month.

Not one 3 in 4 nights.

Of the 12 games 8 of them are on home ice.

This type of month will be a great mid season reset physically and if you play well the type of month you could go 10-2 , 9-3.

So sofar we kicked butt in the first segment taking 1 extra game. Second segment we met our target of 3 games. Third segment is at risk, we must win the next two to meet the target.
While we had a great start, two and a half segments in we are barely holding on to the 6 points per 5 games target.

Come on buds keep it up!

In terms of meeting the segment target then yes we need to win the next 2 games. However in terms of keeping pace with the overall target, we need to win one of the next 2 games.

I have a question about the third column titled "segment pts". It has number of points over 12. So the first one is first row has 8/12 and the second has 6/12.

What does the 12 represent? If it's total points for the segment and they're 5 game segments, then it should be a 10. Or does the 12 mean something else?

I expect us to bounce back in the next segment. We've played well against Boston in the last couple years, Minnesota looks average and Vegas' goaltending situation is as dire as it gets.
