Basically a 5 deep list, plus some guys who are or might become NHL scrubs. Ouch.

Amazing what can happen when you keep your 1st and 2nd rounders and actively try and accumulate more picks to move up in drafts.

If we start getting big years from our forwards like Rubstov, Frost, Ratcliffe, Allison, Kase, Vorobyev, Laberge, etc... the main boards are going to be having fits. Having a few of these guys take a big step forward development wise could be what pushes us over the edge in a few years. As an example, if Rubstov dominates the Q and has a great WJC to become a top prospect.

I also hope Hogberg takes the next step and has a good WJC just to see certain peoples reactions!

It also helps to draft better in the middle and late rounds.
Look at all the wasted picks for a decade or longer until Hextall arrived.

2002-2013: [at least 100 NHL games]

2nd rd (6): Hagg, Stolarz, Nodl
3rd rd (17): Ghost, Cousins, Chaput, Fraser, Picard, Potulny
4th rd (13):
5th rd (9):
6th rd (15): Rinaldo, Maroon
7th rd (11):

Twelve years of futility, other than Ghost.

Very true as well.

I have added the goalies to the first post. If a mod could add "Top 7 GOALIES" to the thread title, that would be great.

1. Hart, Carter - 72%
2. Sandstrom, Felix - 97%
3. Stolarz, Anthony - 90%
4. Lyon, Alex - 53%
5. Ustimenko, Kirill - 98%
6. Tomek, Matej - 63%
7. Fedotov, Ivan

For me probably about 24 (if I'm using our own poll results as the only measuring stick). He hasn't proven as much as TL, but has almost identical numbers to him if you look at TL's plus on draft year. I see a higher upside to Kosorenkov then I do the guys below 24 mostly because of his shot

And a number of prospects have outplayed our group assessment:

16. Bunnaman, Connor ~ C/LW - 41%
17. Hogberg, Linus ~ LHD - 33%
19. Kase, David ~ W/C - 33%
24. Marody, Cooper ~ C - 30%
25. Lycksell, Olle ~ C - 38%
27. Sushko, Maxim ~ RW - 50%
29. Salinitri, Anthony ~ C - 46%

13. Friedman, Mark ~ RHD - 41% - probably the biggest disappointment on the list

Just to keep in perspective what Hextall's LHV options looked like before the season:

3. Lindblom, Oskar ~ LW/RW - 64%
10. Vorobyev, Mikhail ~ C - 50%
15. Aube-Kubel, Nicolas ~ RW/LW - 39%
20. Vecchione, Mike ~ C - 42%
23. Leier, Taylor ~ LW - 42%
26. Martel, Danick ~ LW/RW - 32%

You could probably add Allison and Frost to the kicked up group too. It may not be as many slots as some others, but each slot towards the top of the list is more significant.

I would also say Laberge is the biggest disappointment as he didn't even move up a level. He just stagnated where he was.

Laberge will go as low as I can put a kid who got his ELC a month after the draft. Basically above players with no real future in the organization. At least he has one, in whatever form. But given how crowded the AHL team is, I almost don't want him taking up a spot and role for someone else. Allison, Bunny, Kase, Marody, maybe Laczynski comes out as a junior......but those are the guys who deserve the meager scraps of usage they even give to the kiddies down there.

It'd be interesting to see how our list would look now halfway though the season

We usually have a thread after the World Juniors are over and talk about updated rankings. So yeah, it will be interesting to have that chat in a week or two.

I'm driving the Ratcliffe wagon, he'll take longer than Allison to develop, but has the higher ceiling (and lower floor).

Sorry, the Allison bandwagon is not taking new applicants right now.

Feel free to contact the Water Bear Club if you're looking for a home.

You're telling me... I tried to do a hair lock exchange by mail with Wade the wonderful. The towheaded beaut sent back a restraining order. Took months the grow enough hair for a proper lock. I was devastated.

quite interesting looking at this list one full season later. lots of rises and drops.

with Patrick, Lindblom and Sanheim coming off the list, does Frost now become our top skater prospect? followed by Myers and Morin?

Frosty late slip makes me want to go Myers #1 again. Last impressions and shiny new toy always plays a bias.

My pre draft ranking

Myers
Frost
Morin
Rubstov
Ratcliffe
Allison
NAK
Vorobyev
Strome
Lacyznski

With the upcoming draft and where we pick, it will be cool to see where everyone slots.

But you likely have the 2 1sts, Frost and Myers as top 4. After that, the fun begins,
