Twarnsky was much better after the trade I felt. Cole they claim has NHL upside but I sure haven't seen any proof of that in dozen or so games I've seen him in.

While Twarynski was better after the trade, he still wasn't good.

Prorate his Kelowna performance to 70 games:
70g 17-37 54 45 +47
playoffs 16 3-2 5 17 +1
It's not a huge jump over his post-draft year performance, he was even +21 with Calgary (which shows how bad they declined last year), and he showed little in the playoffs. There's no evidence he has NHL caliber offensive skills, and is he better than Warren as a checker?

I don't think anyone left will sniff the NHL.

Voted Wyatt, my kid's middle name. TBF, the Flyers taking a chance on a high school kid isn't the norm. So hopefully there's a lot there waiting to showcase.

While I certainly agree that these guys will be a huge stretch to make the NHL I would argue that his play after the trade was vastly better. He was getting reduced ice time (because he wasn't being forced to be a scoring role like he was in Calgary), had close to zero pp time and they allowed him to utilize his best asset which was his deep board play. Calgary was forcing him back into early entries and that doesn't fit his style well. The fact that Salinitri and he don't have contracts yet speaks volumes to me about the teams intentions. They almost always sign their CHL guys the year before expiry.

Lol....that's why I voted him.

He was an unusual pick so maybe they see something in him that others have missed.

Twarynski got good usage in Kelowna. He was primarily on a line Dillon Dube & Kole Lind. He got PP time as a net front presence too.

wondering how the flyers current top 10 would look several months later. also, i know you guys split
skaters and goalies, but curious where you'd slot the goalies in an overall list if you had to do it.
really like frost, by the way, looks legit.

Frost, Vecchione, and Martel would all place higher I imagine.

Frost yes, MV is a bit old not to force a promotion, and Martel's scoring has come back to earth as his S% regresses to the norm.

Ratcliffe and especially Laberge have both been dissapointing.

Ratcliffe doesn't belong in the same sentence as Laberge. Second on his team in scoring. Averaging a goal every other game. Production increase over last year.
