And this report that he gained all of this weight over the summer is apparently bogus:

"But sources told ESPN that Simmons weighed in at 240 pounds in July shortly after he was drafted when he played for Philadelphia's summer league squad in Las Vegas -- where he was lauded for his passing eye and movement -- and reported to training camp earlier this week at 244 pounds.

Two sources with knowledge of doctor examinations of Simmons said Saturday that the injury is an acute fracture of the fifth metatarsal bone caused when he landed on the foot of teammate Shawn Long during a scrimmage Friday at Stockton University in New Jersey."

No chance he put on 30 lbs of muscle since being drafted. That's ridiculous. Teams/players exaggerate a lot at the start of training camp and Simmons seems to have taken it to another level.

Nice. I hope he stays healthy.
Agreed, but the list of players who have suffered lower body injuries is not pretty and some of the players included are: Sam Bowie, Tracy McGrady, Afernee "Penny" Hardaway, Bill Walton, Danny Manning, Ralph Sampson, and Grant Hill.

I could definitely look through players who have suffered lower body injuries throughout NBA history and list players who returned from them to have great careers.

Justise Winslow looked good in his first game yesterday. The jumper looks improved and he handled the ball more and was allowed to be more of a playmaker. It's only preseason and just one game but I liked what I saw. I think he takes a big step forward in his second season.

Ish Smith will be the starting PG for the Pistons for 6-8 weeks.

That's big news. Hopefully they get it done. There were some NBA people who were convinced this was going to be a very tough negotiation that could lead to another lockout.

Embiid wont be able to be defended if he is ever on the floor.

He's going to be so fun to watch. I'm probably going to have that same nervous feeling I had with Oden whenever he goes up for a dunk though.
