Crouse and Chychrun are probably at risk for being sent back based on play.

Ideally, opening night:
Domi - Strome - Duclair
McGinn - Dvorak - Rieder
Crouse - Hanzal - Vrbata
Martinook - Richardson - Doan

White, Dauphin

OEL - Murph
Gogo - Michalek
Chychrun - Schenn

4 rookies at the moment on the opening night roster. and 3 rookies were on it last year. Love it.

For comparison, last season we had names like Gordon, Downie, Chipchura, Vermette, Grossmann in the lineup to start the year.

I wouldn't be surprised if McBain played Saturday and Z sat.

Excited that the kids have initially made the team, a little worried about when those two players come off IR, because I think it'll be Strome and Crouse being sent back. Hopefully they impress and continue to impress!

It's nice to have only 2 specialists on the roster, at the spots they belong (extra F in White, extra D in Schenn when Stone is healthy).

Should be bale to roll 4 lines that are much better at actual possession.

We'd need to clear a D spot when KConn and/or Stone is ready, so it wouldn't be Strome or Crouse. Though I suspect Crouse is here for the just the 9 games.

McBain just goes down. Easy.

I thought that Z was waived. I see him on the official roster. Did they pull him back off of waivers?

Him clearing waivers just means we can assign him somewhere if we want. We can keep him up as well if we want to, or he can refuse to report. We did the same thing with Scott last year. Waiver lasts for like 30 days so if we have a sudden call up we can make quick moves without having to wait for that player to clear.

Are we happy with chickenrun starting the season? 18 seems awfully young for a defenseman

He may be 18 but he's got an NHL body. If his brain can adapt, he'll keep his spot.

I agree; Chychrun's smart decision to play D hockey as simply as possible during camp may pay dividends in regards to Tip as he is physically ready.

Neither K-Conn nor Tinordi are fundamentally essential to this team so this roster thing can play out in many different ways over the next week or so.

Up to Strome/Crouse/Chychrun to show that they belong. It is going to be a very interesting first couple of weeks.

I trust that Tippet of all coaches would not simply give a spot to a rookie, I think Chychrun has earned the 9 game try out. I think he'll need to seriously impress to make it beyond that though.

I certainly am, he's impressed the hell out of me thus far. Let's not forget Murphy was quite young as was Cam Fowler and a few others, who were able to make an impact.

Hanifin made it too last year and at one point Chychrun was once considered the best defenseman in the draft, maybe he stays, his game play will let us w

Seeing Chychruns interviews I think he's mature enough to handle being in the NHL. It's very smart for him to try and just keep things simple. I think he has a very good shot at sticking around for the entire season. Especially after placing Michalek on waivers, TippKa are very serious about going young this season.

Am I missing something, are we only carrying six active defensemen right now?
OEL-Murphy
Goligoski-Schenn
Chychrun-McBain

or is Tinordi, Stone or Kconn on the way?
