The 17th poll ended with 19 votes each for Cole Bardreau and David Kase, so this runoff poll only has two choices.

23 yr old vs 19 yr old, so it's quite the dramatic difference. IMO, Kase *should* end up the better player of the two. He just needs to put on muscle and let nature run its course. I'd easily gamble on Kase in the long run even with all the projection. A more skilled player, and just as smart/tenacious as Bardreau.

If you heard the Flyers traded either guy for a third-round pick, which would disappoint you more?

Easily Kase IMO.

I went with Kase. Folks were speaking very highly of him last year (though I haven't heard much about him since then).

I'd rather have Bardreau than a 3rd. He will be a big part of the Phantoms season.

But will he be a big part of the Flyers in the future? Tye McGinn was good for the Phantoms and we were thrilled with what he returned- a 3rd.

We were thrilled with that because we had already determined he didn't have a future here. Bardreau might.

And we already have two 2017 3rds. :)

Established NHL 4th liners return 3rd round picks. I like Bardreau, but if a team offers me a 3rd round pick for a 23 year old AHL player who projects as a 4th liner, I'm taking the deal everyday-especially when you consider how much depth the organization has added the last 3 years.

It's all hypothetical, but 5 picks in the top 90 selections, in back to back drafts sounds good to me.

And 2 4ths. And if everything goes as expected, we will be selling off a few Dmen thru the year for even more picks.

This coming draft I hope Hextall does whatever he can to add that high end forward prospect to our group. We have seen him move up, and down a few spots for guys he wants. Next year I am all for packaging a bunch of picks to move up as far as possible.

We now have the depth in place to do so and not hurt us.

Bardreau is a likable player and I wouldn't be surprised to see him as an NHL 4th liner, but I'd take a 3rd round pick for him without hesitation.

As would I. With how Hextall has drafted, he could use that 3rd as a piece to move up or swing for the fences and end up with more of higher ceiling/lower floor prospect than Bardreau.
