Put this in the other thread, shoulda put it here.

Trade for kadri
Sign ehrhoff
Dump sal and zubrus
Good to go

I'd rather Hertl than Kadri. I guess we figure Merrill would be packaged in both trades.

Doesn't seem as though Shero intends on moving Merrill, especially with his connection to Hynes.

Question, Im not sure if its going to happen but if the Flyers buyout Sam Gagner, which was the rumor when they traded for him. Would you be interested in him?

26 by the time the season starts, 41 points with Arizona last season, he has speed, plus i believe he is pretty good at shootouts.

I don't have Martin St. Louis in there, because Shero has stated he wants to see what Boucher and Matteau could do, and with MSL, that wouldn't really be possible. However if Devils did sign him (which there have been reports that they will try to) I wouldn't mind it. He would make us better, but would once again have Boucher/Matteau in the minors.

How long could Boucher and Matteau stay in the minors?

TG, in the comments of his blog (if that's actually him):

"I was told they have no interest in signing St. Louis. They want to get younger."

Boucher and Matteau would be and should be bottom six guys at the moment. I wouldn't put either of them as our top line RW or C to start out with. Insanity. We do need to get younger but MSL would of been a no risk/cheap/high reward band-aid for 1 year (or even half a season) and then we could of looked for something more long term next year. Not sure what Shero has planned. Frolik isn't a first line winger, Stewart is more of a question mark than MSL would be on the first line, I wouldn't wanna trade assets for Sharp (who is now a complementary player at best). Stafford? LOL

The youth movement and rebuild needs to be gradual. Unless we are going into full tank mode for Auston. But Matthews isn't even a RW prospect.

As I said. We need a second pairing vet defenseman, a top line RW and a 2nd line/depth RW. Palmieri was a good start but if he's on our first line next year I'm gonna vomit. Same goes with Frolik if we sign him.

Would of been PERFECT for next year. We are a team in transition but those lines would of been a step in the right direction. Would of given the kids the chance to grow, it would give Zubrus the chance to either redeem himself or play out his contract and then part ways next year and would of given us a stable top six until we have the chance to look for something more permanent.

Thank goodness Elias' 5 million dollar contact comes off the books next year and we'll have quite a bit of cap space to play with.

Someone mentioned Chiasson and he would be an ideal 3rd line rw for us, if not too expensive to pry out of Ottawa. Should be a bit cheaper than Palmieri. I could see Kyle slotting in on the second line very nicely.

Yes please. He should be cheap now that 4 teams have tossed him away in a year. If he wants term than not a chance, but we need forwards and I would definitely want him.

Hertl would be amazing but no way he's made available. That is until debo gets his moronic hands on him. Get ready to ride the pine yuroboy! Kadri is at least more attainable and most likely less expensive. But I doubt Shero goes for him. I'm just sick of trav. Love the guy but he blows.

Sam is a C/RW so you could pencil him in behind Zajac if Zacha gets sent to juniors. For whatever it's worth, he is only 25. I am on board with that move if/when the Flyers buy him out.

Shero has initiated a rebuild in all but name so expect rebuild type moves in the future.

Edit: ...short of trading the core players like Schnieder and Greene. Lou left the team pretty far ahead in the rebuild process, and all Shero has to do is finish it.

I would without a doubt take Gagner if Philly buys him out.

I would imagine I'm in the minority but I'd kick the tires on Mike Richards when he clears waivers too, but not for anything longer than a one year prove it deal.

According to some coyotes fans in some thread on the main boards ganger was playing mostly right wing when he was there. That could also be a plus for us.

Boucher is not a center. and Boucher and Matteau will be in the top 9 if they are playing. Not on the fourth line.

For boosh, he can be in the minors for another year. Not so for Matteau. He'd have to be put on waivers, If i'm not mistaken.
