In other news. Fox and the Broncos have parted ways, and it was revealed Peyton has a torn Quad since December 15th (though it might of been a strain, not a torn Quad).

Wonder why Denver didn't shut him down before the playoffs...

For the same reason Rodgers is gutting through his torn calf, because their championship hopes end the minute the QB gets shelved. Granted Peyton was useless the last month with the injury but still you'd think they would at least want to take a shot with two weeks off since they got a bye.

The #49ers are expected to meet with and make a final push for #Broncos OC Adam Gase tonight, source said.

He was hurt with two games left in the regular season that I believe he played. That is what I mean. Why not give him the extra time off before this playoff game?

They hadn't locked up a bye till they beat Oakland the last week though, that's the problem. If they rest him the last few weeks they'd probably have to play the first week of the postseason anyway.

Ahhh I forgot they weren't safely in the bye yet. That is a tough decision.

Clearly it didn't work out. Peyton was clearly hurt that game.

Broncos are letting the entire coaching staff go

I knew Fox was out, didn't realize the entire staff was going too.

Guess the OC is going to San Fran then since he is now out of a job.

I get the team sort of underachieved towards the end of the season (I guess anyway), but that 2nd round exit has a lot to do with an injured Manning which was out of the coaching staff's control.

Just seems premature to fire the staff a year removed from a trip to the Super Bowl.

Elway gave all of them permission to seek employment elsewhere

I don't get the big deal about Gase. What was his claim to fame before Manning got there?

Sounds like the Bears are gonna go hard after Fox

Is anyone other then San Fran speaking to him? I wasn't surprised they called. Most suspected they were going to move to fresher assistant and not a big name HC.

Member of the Broncos coaching staff tells me that the entire staff has been notified during group meeting that can/should “look elsewhere."

Can/SHOULD look elsewhere. Ouch.

Yeah that "should" part is basically a hint by John :

Falcons get a new stadium? Why? The old one opened in 92 and was built with the 96 olympics in mind. I think 25 years is a bit short of a life span for a modern-era construction project.

$214 M for the old one
$1.2 B for the new one

Just to adjust - the value of that $214 Mil in today's dollars would be a mere $361 Mil.

They probably want to have a Super Bowl in Atlanta.

Same thing with the Braves, they've barely been in their ballpark for 20 years but they are moving into a new stadium in the next few years as well

What royally pisses me off about that is how hypocritical they are about "wasteful spending." $1.2B for a stadium and yet, there's no money for new highways, snow plows, and salt spreaders.
