The NHLPA wasnt supposed announce whether they would accept escalator or not until June 30th.

Move Kelly and replace him with any good PK 4th liner making 750k. Another 2.25M saved.

We don't need to maneuver to use the LTIR. only if they want to use it after the season starts.

If you use it in season you get the full 4M to use.

If you use it before the season you only get relief for how much you're over the cap

Except you don't trade Lucic just for cap space. You trade him because he won't be worth what it will take to sign him AND you have more pressing needs on your roster that require significant investment.

You also have to add the 4M Seids Cap hit if you add a top-4.

So Savard, Kelly, Seids out= saving of 11M

Some of this will go for Hamilton raise. The rest go to a 4th liner making 750k to replace Kelly and a new top-4 D to replace Seids.

This Bruins team may not be great but they're not terrible. If they didn't sell last season when everyone and their mother knew they weren't going anywhere, safe to assume they won't sell this season either.

If you're going to deal Lucic, do it now and give yourself the space to make a string of moves for this season.
