Another offseason thread, this time thought it would be interesting to predict points for the top guys this upcoming season. I'll go the expected top 3 lines and then the top 4 expected defensemen since everyone has different opinions of who will and should fill the bottom spots. In the final tally thread everyone can post their full predictions if they like and add anyone that wasn't in the polls. I'll keep the poll up for a few days, we'll see how it goes.

For this one we begin with Tanguay, Duchene and Iginla. How many points do we expect from each assuming a healthy season?

I expect a bounce back season from Duchene, around 70 points. If he ends up with less than 65 points than the season probably did not go very well.

I picked 45-54 for Iginla, and expect it to be closer to 45. I think he ends up with around 25 goals.

For Tanguay, I don't expect him to be healthy and I expect him to kind of roam around the lineup, so I picked 40-49.

I have a feeling Tangs is gonna miss some games. I picked 49-40 points.

Duchene bounce back and more PP points. 75-65 points.

I think Iginla is gonna start showing signs of age. His 5vs5 shooting percentage was very high last year, hard to mantain. But it comes down to usage there. Roy really has to stop treating him like he is our best defensive forward. If Roy uses him the same next year and Iggy doesn't hit 20, I wouldn't hold it against him. 54-45 points.

First of all, I simply assumed that all of them don't miss a significant amount of games and play 75+ games. Not saying all of them will but it's hard to predict injuries.

Duchene: 65-75, don't expect 75, though. 65-70

Tanguay: 50-60, he's such a smooth player and great passer and he was in good shape last year, I fully expect him to come in around 55 points with maybe a couple goals less but more assists than last year

Iginla: 45-54 points, something around 25+25/up to 30

I'd be happy with low 50s for Iginla and Tanguay, especially if Iggy puts up 25+ goals. Duchene I hope will bounce back to 65-70 point pace at least.

I expect Tangs to produce a lot since it's a contract year. However I only expect 50 games out of him.

I expect around 70-75 for Duchene.
I expect Iginla to top last year's total because of Duchene.

Duchene: 55-64, without a big improvement to his line-mates (Tangs and Iggy are both aging), I don't see him skyrocketing back to PPG production. A 5 to 10 point increase over last year is respectable.

Iggy: 55-64, I assume he'll continue producing at about the same rate as last year. Looking for him to eclipse the 60-point mark (and hopefully, the 30-goal mark, as well).

Tangs: 40-49, I don't have much doubt that Tangs can still produce at a similar rate as last year, but I predicted a lower point total, because he played 80 games last year, and if he misses any more than 5 games this year, he'll likely end up in this range.

With the cutoffs... I went with Duchene in the 65-75 range. I think he touches a bit above 65... but is 'only' around 66/67. I think Iggy will come close to a 30-30 season again, but his ES production will probably drop off a bit (I think the PP gets better and Iggy will be a part of that). Tangs.. I expect him to float between the Duchene and Grigorenko lines and miss some games. Somewhere in the mid 40s seems about right for him.

Get out of my head.

Literally exactly what I was thinking from the numbers to the reasons.

Over 75 for Dutchy;

40-49 or <40 for Tangs, I'm expecting him to miss a good deal of time and come back slowly;

54-45 for Iggy, with 30 goals...though MacK will get to 30 first.

We're going to have 2 30+ goal scorers? :amazed:

I'll gladly take 1. We're going on 9 years since the last time a member of the Avs scored 30 goals. Ridiculous inefficiency.

Categories are maybe a little broad but everyone can post their exact predictions in the final thread. I tried to go off of what they did last year and also considered their career (or last 5 years) high/low.

Duchene I expect to be back to about PPG or just under, so the low 70 range. Tangs and Iggy won't be so high again next year. Iggy might hit 25 goals but fewer assists, Tangs in the 40s range rather than 50s.

I'll gladly take 1 to, but I think we're in for a big year as a team; and so after just missing 30 Iggy will hit that number again, and though I don't think MacK challenges PPG yet, I do think he can up his goal scoring and beat Iggy to that number. If either misses significant time then obviously that changes, but I could see this team stopping that dry-spell from reaching 10 years in a big way.

Expecting Tanguay to bounce around the lineup a bit...40-49 seems about right

I feel Iggy will do well this year and hit 30 goals, so around 45-54 (closer to 54)

I expect Duchene to have a big year after last year's disappointing finish, around 65-70 points.
