I can't wait for the Olympics, I wish they had the winter Olympics every two years because I don't care for the summer ones. Skiing and hockey are always great.

It's crazy how many people are worried about terrorists though, I hope nothing happens.

Patrice Bergeron said his wife won't be traveling to the Winter Games in Sochi due to the safety concerns amid bombing threats

Krejci: "you kinda don't know what you're getting into. I told my family not to go to (Sochi), but my mom wants to go...so I can't stop her"

What events are you looking forward to? Favorite athletes? I'm hoping Bode Miller medals a few more times before he retires.

I've got friends with USA Luge, so I like to watch that.

I'm looking forward to hockey of course, but also, get this, curling.

I was laid up after an operation during the last Winter Olympics and really began to like curling.

I'll watch skiing as well.

As for the fear factor: I guess if you've got kids, you look at things differently, but if I were planning on going, the threat of terrorism wouldn't stop me. That's exactly what the terrorists want. Plus, the chances of you being a victim have got to be slim, and let's face it, there are worse ways to go!

Hockey, hockey, hockey... I don't follow any of the other sports, so I know absolutely nothing about them, but they're always fun to watch. Kind of like the Summer Olympics with swimming, volleyball, water polo, just fun to watch. You learn more about them as you watch, so it's part of the experience. There's always something on TV to put on. I learned a lot about curling 4 years ago... Maybe I'll follow it more carefully. No promises. I just love their facial expressions.

I doubt anything will happen, security is going to be absolutely crazy. But it's definitely a concern. Not sure if any other players besides Krejci/Bergy/Chara/Julien have verbally expressed it, but it's scary. It's just so fun to see players play for their countries. So much extra passion and the love for the game is so evident. I can't wait to see Chara play, being the captain of Slovakia and having the honor of carrying the flag... It's gonna be something else for him. He deserves it more than anyone.

I love everything. My son was born a month before the Lillehammer games in 94, so I was able to watch every moment. That was glorious.

The Village should be fine as far as security goes, but I can understand the players' concern about their families.

Don't worry guys, Phil Kessel will be there. Nobody in their right mind is going to act a fool with such a noted asskicker in close proximity.

Luge and skeleton are nuts, some of the worst crashes in the Olympics.

I think Putin said they're going to have a ton of security their so hopefully everyone will be fine.

It'll be great to watch the Bruins play for their countries... Does anyone else hope Bergeron plays big for Canada just to see him get the recognition?

I know I'll get ragged on for this but I watch as many US Olympians compete as I can. Even sports that I'm not really interested in like ice Dancing. I enjoy the competition and the sportsmanship that are usually a part of the Olympics. I wish I was good enough at something to have been able to have represented the country.

80,000 Russian troops are in Sochi alone. 50 billion dollars being spent to keep my Hilary safe. :)

I think the venues will be pretty safe but if I were there I wouldn't travel too far off the beaten path.

Isn't it a bit curious that they chose to have the Games here given the proximity of Chechnya?

South Korea was runner up in the balloting, and actually had the most votes on the 1st ballot, but lost 51-47 in round 2. They ended up getting the 2018 Winter Games.

It's a bit depressing that terrorism is hanging over this in a way that didn't seem to be the case in Vancouver and Turin.

South Korea would be interesting, instead of Chechnya we'd be hearing about North Korea probably

It is a strange place for winter games, I heard Sochi is almost tropical.

The U.S. will be one of the favorites in ice dancing, so you should see a good competition. :)

Speaking of figure skating, keep an eye on Jason Brown, who finished second in the U.S. nationals. He's only 19, but he is an outstanding performer with a show-stopping routine. I'm really looking forward to that.

I love the winter games but I can't help think that this go around will be nothing short of a train wreck. With the warm weather, corruption and security issues it is not going to be well done.

Sort of the same for me, my daughter was born a month before the Vancouver Olympics, it sucked because I couldn't go and it was in my backyard, but like you I watched a tonne of Olympics on TV.

I am looking forward to obviously Canada winning the Gold in hockey again:yo:, snowboarding, curling, freestyle skiing, and bobsleigh.

It's pretty cool that 3 of our guys are arguably perceived as their country's best player (Chara, Rask and Krejci). What are your projections of line combos for our guys? My guess:

Marleau-Bergeron-Carter

Michalek-Krejci-Jagr

Landeskog-Berglund-Eriksson

Chara-Mezaros

I think they should put Bergy with Crosby and Perry like the world junior team. Nasty line

I love me some curling, but after watching the US trials, I dont have much optimism for the US team.

The Norway men's team will be wearing funny pants...so I guess that's something.

can't stress this enough: as a Bruins fan i'm rooting for early exits for Finland and Slovakia. And of course US gold.
