Mattocks and Hurtado are both wildly inconsistent; could be a product of their youth, could be that's all they're ever going to be. Both are frustrating and I'd rather see a veteran in place of one of them.

As much as I hated Camilo's antics, he would be a pretty good forward for this group.

The Caps need to stop pissing away points at home, though. They're controlling games better than they ever have, but they lack quality in the final third.

Pretty sure Carlyle Mitchell just played his last game. How on earth do you ignore your keeper on a ball in the air, and then pull up your arm like that?

Both Mattocks & Hurtado are good to great athletes who don't have great soccer skills. Neither one is a great or even good finisher and so you have the streaks of goals. What I get frustrated with, is that not only can neither one a hold up the ball and distribute like good strikers can do ( not to mention both having a horrid first touch ), neither one can really beat his man off the dribble, both players go to moves are, kick ball by man and out run them, and that doesn't work that well at this level. Maybe they can improve, they are young, but man its tough to watch some games.

Oh and besides Morales, who was worth the price of admission by himself, I thought Koffie had a tremendous game as well, constantly breaking up attacks and striding forward with the ball. He has really come into his own this year.

From 1040 Presidents week - Bobby Lenarduzzi

Paraphasing of Course...

Transfer Window:
- Originally looking at 15-20 players
- Down to 3-4 players now
- Was looking at 1 world cup player at one point.
- Will not bring in another person like Robson even if it would help them make the playoffs. Team first.

Other:
- Grass in BC place - Not likely, if ever.

- Very into Sabremetrics, have a German Bundesliga person gathering the infomation/statistics and relaying to the Coaching staff.

- No logo change anytime soon.

- No off season indoor league, players have a mandatory 2 month off.

- Team disciplined will be handed out, if players dive ie. Fernandez incident smacking himself in the face.

*Will add more if I can remember.

One mistake = last game?

That's pretty ridiculous, even for this forum. O'Brien is still hurt and DeMerit just retired. Christian Dean is not becoming a starter with no backup because Mitchell made an error, no matter how costly.

Well, you can start off by signing someone, which is what the Whitecaps front office appears to be trying to do.

O'brien might be ready Wednesday. I love what Mitchell brings to the team in the air but he is to often making costly decisions.

Koffie has been awesome this year. Great to see a youngster developing so well.

Hurtado scored goals in 5 straight games, so by your logic he should be playing over Mattocks.
Then he went on to do absolutely nothing in the next 5. My logic is, there's no point in benching Mattocks when the next option, Hurtado, is ice cold. A bench stint was needed for Hurtado and I'd keep him there until Mattocks stops scoring. It's not hard logic to understand.

Hurtado and Mattocks showing all the chemistry of amateur porn actors and flubbing what few chances they do generate, better sub off Koffie and Fernandez for Teibert and Salgado then!
