Russia's roster at the 2014 IIHF U18 World Championship included nine players that competed in North America during the 2013-14 season. One of that North American contingent was forward Ivan Nikolishin, son of former NHL forward Andrei Nikolishin.
Nikolishin was productive at the U18 tournament, netting two goals and adding three assists in the five games that the Russians played in Finland. Nikolishin played on Russia's top line with 2015 prospect Yevgeni Svechnikov and Alexander Protapovich, but even with their offensive output, Russia was not able to advance after dropping a 3-2 decision in their quarterfinal match with the Czech Republic.… read more
