Since Buffalo is going to be WAY below the 50 million or so cap floor, what Free agents are we going to be targeting to work our way through the rebuild or possibly sell off for futures at the deadline.

Assuming Ennis re-signs, Sabres as of now would only need to spend around $12M on 7 or 8 players to reach the '14-'15 cap floor. #mythbuster

If you add in Conacher & Foligno, you've got it down to around $9.5M to spend on 5 or 6 players. No sweat.

Not only is this cap floor scare a myth, so is the idea that the Sabres wouldn't be able to buy out Leino if that's what they wanted.

Pardon a stupid question, but what happens if a team is below the cap floor?
(I'd throw money at Ott to bring him back, and maybe Callahan. Big money, short contracts, no problem. Don't want another Leino-situation.)

We should be able to fill this roster out with vets and still be horrible so we can keep kids in minors.
Draft McDavid/Eichel in 2015...
Then next summer we can start bringing in the kids and quality free agents and start to actually "build" our roster.

If we can find those UFA's that have come to terms with throwing away a year or more of their life making a lot of money but no chance at a Stanley Cup... Target those.
