Krul guessed every PK right the last time and is known to be a specialist. Was subbing in Huntelaar really going to inspire the squad?

This was my thought. He gambled by bringing Krul into the game cold to do the PK's last time out and it worked out brilliantly. Seemed like he tried to outsmart himself a little by not giving himself that option and going with Vlaar to start things off.

Germany for me now. I was hoping for a Dutch/German final and I wasn't sure if or how I would root but the Germans have been the class of the tournament to me. Plus I just like their style more than Argentina's.

I don't have any rooting interest for the final, just hope it isn't a blowout and isn't decided by penalties.

So there is one guy whose hair makes me want to vomit. Rodrigo Polacio has the most disgusting little rat tail that flies around when he runs. Why oh why does he have such a gross extension on his head.

No blowout or PKs tomorrow please. Want Messi to win, but I just want a close and exciting game.

For a team with an such an electric talent as Messi, the Argentinians sure can slow the game down to a crawl.

Good on 'em for being able to do so against the high-octane Germans, but it doesn't make for a very entertaining final so far.

It's one of those "next goal wins" games, it seems. Or maybe it'll go to penalties yet again.

Can we just turn this into a soccer/football thread? I think there's enough interest to where we could pull this up every once and a while.
