Coach Ernest Bokros has been double-shifting this winter as the U20 and U18 Slovakia national team coach, but he’ll only be bringing one player to the upcoming U18 who was also with him at the WJC, namely forward Martin Reway. And that’s only if Reway is healthy enough to go. What he’ll also be bringing along with him are three of the five oldest players at the tournament as well as the tournament’s youngest participant.



Clearly though, his chief goal will be to simply maintain the team’s spot in the top division. Last year’s club hosted the Division I Group A tournament and rather handily walked through it on its way to promotion.… read more

The U18 team looks really weak. Latvia has also looked awful but they were in a tougher group. Best 2 out of 3 to avoid going down. Goaltender Denis Godla looked good against Canada. David Soltes has 3 goals in 4 games. Eric Cernak has also looked good, but otherwise nothing much. The team of course badly missing the injured Reway.

We have a weak goalie and weak defense, so I don't see much problem for you vs us. Maybe if goalies stop allowing easy goals and d-men learn not to spend an afternoon with a puck in their own zone. Forwards are decent.
