wild should be drafting high end offensive centers with their top picks if one is available, defense mid rounds, and goalies late.

But BPA always comes first.

How many high end offensive centers have been selected 30th overall?

Doing Nothing
Nobody's really tearing it up this year, which makes sense because we don't really have any blue chip prospects anymore outside the NHL.

Zucker and Haula still project to be NHL'ers. I think Gustafsson is outplaying Kuemper and has been all year.

Gilmour so far has been the best college player, although Lucia had a nice weekend. Michalek is having a solid bounce-back season.

Gabriel is doing well against younger, smaller kids. Belanger is either a terrible goalie, on a terrible team, or both.

No idea what Louie Nanne is doing this year, if anything.

Belanger is either a terrible goalie, on a terrible team, or both.

I thought he looked decent at the prospect scrimmages.

His team is 8/18 in the QMJHL with 92 GF and 91 GA. His team could just have terrible defense?

I think Gustafsson is outplaying Kuemper and has been all year.

No idea what Louie Nanne is doing this year, if anything.

As always it seems like there's a lot of assumptions being made here just off of stats.

Gustafsson has the better numbers at this stage but it's not like there's that much separation between the two. Plus with only 5 and 7 games played between them it's a little early to say one has been outplaying the other all year.

I like Gilmour as a prospect but he had three points in an 11-0 win over Army on Saturday and had three assists in another blowout when he was still playing on a line with Gaudreau and Arnold and they did a lot of the heavy lifting. I've seen three or four Notre Dame games and a few BC games and to me Lucia definitely looks like the better player at this stage (as he should considering experience and draft position). Also, Carson Soucy has been very encouraging, he's got some size and he's playing some good minutes for UMD as a freshman.

Nanne is currently out with an injury (shoulder I believe)

Labbe plays for the worst team in the Q; Belanger's team actually isn't that bad but it appears their defense is. His backup's numbers look even worse than his.

Agree with Jaykay.

It makes zero sense to come on here and make broad statements about a kids ability or lack of ability without watching SEVERAL games..........but many do !

If the guy wants to make conclusions, or what you feel are conclusions, I think he has earned that right. If not, then feel free to update the stats for all of us Wild fans.

Pass on updating an excel spreadsheet--he does a great job, not debating that..over 21,000 posts, very comiitted guy...but Ive watched live Belanger, Gilmour, Labbe, been to Traverse City and Des Moines so can look beyond stats.

I haven't seen Gilmour play since his draft year with Nobles HS but he isn't going to be a top line forward who can score 60 points.

However, he is going to be a character forward that can play in all situations and still be useful offensively.

Obviously, it would be nice if he started racking up points on the top line in BC but I personally am not put off at all if he doesn't. The only thing that will make me worried is if he starts not using his size and that can only be found out with viewings (I should see him a few times this year).

Please use that crystal ball that gives you the certainty to tell us what all of are prospects are going to be, then we won't have to argue with each other :p:

I like you dan, so just giving you crap, but pretty authoritative there, haha.

If noone has seen last night for Iowa; Connely got hit from behind and none other then Jason Zucker was there to defend him. And when I say defend, I mean it. Zucker absolutely destroyed Hakanpaa. The fight is early in the highlights.

Great to see from Zucks!

If Zucker can get his **** together and get back up here, he is going to be a lot of fun to watch.
