great job OC!

I haven't gotten much of a chance to see the monster dman Eric Knodel from New Hampshire the past year or two - any thoughts on this kid and his pro ability?

He is certainly putting up some great numbers and has the size that would put him in the NHL right now, what are his flaws??

great job OC!

I haven't gotten much of a chance to see the monster dman Eric Knodel from New Hampshire the past year or two - any thoughts on this kid and his pro ability?

He is certainly putting up some great numbers and has the size that would put him in the NHL right now, what are his flaws??

Thanks. :)

One area IMO where Knodel has really improved since arriving at UNH is his skating. His strides are more fluid and he skates with more agility. He's also more patient with the puck and his decision-making with it has also gotten a lot better.

As far as Knodel's flaws, one I would say are his feet, specifically in his starts/stops. Knodel can't seem to get out of the blocks that quickly and his stops sometimes are almost like when someone slams on the brakes of their car to avoid hitting something. Another area is the fact that he's not overly physical.

I hope this helps. :)

great job OC!

Eric Knodel's slap shot is a rocket and accurate. He's on the top UNH power play and penalty kill units.

Knodel's physical play is typical for a Hockey East defenseman plus UNH goes out of it's way to avoid penalties. When he needs to take a forward out of the play with a body check, he does just fine. His long reach and anticipation allows him to shut forwards down without smudging them into the boards. Will he raise his level of physical play when he reaches the AHL/NHL? I would say yes.
