Habs and sens are so garbage, can't believe they were expected to be better then us.

That damn team will show up against us though.

Remember what Burrows said a couple of years ago?

"I really wanted to win against Toronto for our fans, we know they don't like Toronto much"

Yeah they will...they always do.

I'm disappointed that Detroit won but if they were going to get the two points anyway, I'm glad they did it in regulation.

A lot of Canucks fans say that a game against the Leafs is an easy two points in the bank. It would be nice if we could end that on Saturday but if the Leafs bring their Calgary effort to Vancouver and either Reimer or Bernier isn't just as good (or even better) than their performances in Alberta, I don't see how the Leafs have any chance of winning on Saturday.

Sens were, don't know about Habs. IMHO Habs are an average team at best with a shot to be a lottery team this year. Just don't believe they have enough talent on that roster, they are just a free-fall away and I think its inevitable in an 82 game season. They have boom and bust players in Subban and Gally though. From a outside perspective, I think Subban is closer to Mike Green 2.0 than a Franchise D-man type but he is an elite PP/offensive d-man. He's overrated though and I prefer D-men more in the mold of a Duncan Keith type (in terms of game-breaking potential). However, what can you do when the general fan base/Norris trophy is obsessed with offensive production.

Gally reminds me exactly of Mikko Koivu and people need to temper expectations that he has franchise #1c potential, I don't see it and will be superbly surprised if he becomes one. He doesn't have any elite level skills on par with guys like Malkin, etc.

I don't think either team is better than Toronto even prior to the season starting. I'm more concerned about Boston, Pitts, Detroit in our conference.

Yeah I'd rather have Subban instead of Letang. I want him on Team Canada. He gets under the opponents so easily its such a big advantage.

eehh.....
maybe, maybe not.

i just saw the Detroit GWG... five hole by Luongo, because the guy lift his foot up.

Yakapov for Bernier? Sure why not. It's a good trade for us, same with Reimer, we have Drew and he would make a fine backup, probably better than Dubnyk off the hop.

Varlamov ****ed over my fantasy team. Bad luck this week, Moulson gets traded to a garbage team and now this

If he did actually abuse his wife that's pretty disgusting too. I'll wait until the facts are out but if the charges seem to be accurate then I've lost a lot of respect for him.

Only two crappy circumstances? I have 11 players injured, Giroux and lundqvist playing like crap an now my shining light in net has apparently kidnapped someone lol. Fantasy hockey luck...ugh

But yeah I'd wait for all the facts to come out. Who knows what happened. But it doesn't seem good that neither te Avs or him are actually talking yet.

I also had Varly on my fantasy team - ugh. Niemi is my other one and he LOST last night. You had ONE job, Niemi. One.

I had to pick up Carter Hutton because no other starting goalies were available. :(

Relax guys, even if they find Varlamov guilty a Colorado forward will have to serve his sentence anyway

I honestly thought Talbot was a target to go after from a Leafs perspective.

He was a Leaf target a couple seasons ago just before he signed with Philly. Since we need better center depth, I thought he would have been a solid fit in the bottom 6.

Weird trade for the Avs though. I wouldn't have given up a player that strong in Downie for Talbot.

That was when we needed a PK specialist.

We ended up getting someone better than Talbot in that regard.

He could be a bit more then a PK specialist, but does excel in that aspect.

He brings a good amount of leadership, he's a playoff warrior and would gives us depth. We desperately need center depth.

Smith is doing OK but being able to throw Talbot there instead of him, for example, would be a lot better.

Anyway, not a big deal but I think he would have helped us a lot in terms of experience.
