The ADV (Approximate Draft Value) stat tool bears it out: Nashville had two of its worst drafts in 2010 and 2011.

Between the two seasons, the Preds had a total of 15 NHL player-games for their 13 picks (6 in 2010, 7 in 2011). That translates to a .0399 ADV in 2010, and .0068 in 2011.

For comparison: the NHL average ADV for all 30 teams in 2010 was .6056, while it was .5825 in 2011.

Nashville has averaged an ADV of 1.0146 per draft over the 17 seasons the club has been in the NHL - fifth best among all NHL teams over a 25-year period.

.0399 is also the average ADV of all picks from 241-270 overall chosen in that same time frame (until the NHL stopped selecting over 240 players in the draft, back in 2004).
