McDavid’s seasons don’t have the “what ifs” that Crosby’s did. Obviously it would be a different conversation had Crosby been healthy. But in the real world where he wasn’t, you can’t really pick him here.

The OP should state what the discussion is about. Seems kind of silly to look at their raw totals as this is clearly McDavid.

Who was the better player regardless of games played is Crosby. Just as productive offensively, while being very good defensively and used an all around #1C, not just as an offensive weapon. He was also a proven playoff performer too.

I don't why its crazy to say McDavid's peers are superior to Crosby's peers with the respective timeframes. Kane was not at his peak, Malkin missed lots of time for 2 seasons, Ovechkin had 2 down seasons. Stamkos, St Louis, and the sedins isn't some standout group here

Age is irrelevant. Malkin had two of his worst seasons in that three year stretch, which means comparing his overall PPG in that time is not great competition. And the one year Malkin was healthy and great was better than any full Crosby season.
