I'll throw one name out to start us off... Ben Maxwell. The Habs 49th overall pick has 5 goals and 8 assists for 13 points in 6 games to lead the WHL in scoring. Very impressive so far.

Who else?

Trevor Lewis of the Kings, who was mainly expected to be a 3rd, maybe 2nd line player, has 10 points in 6 games on Owen Sound's first line in the OHL.

From the WHL:

- Leland Irving (#26, Calgary) is 4-0 with a 1.05 GAA.

- Ben Wright (#113, Columbus) is the WHL's 2nd-highest scoring defender to this point with 1-10-11 through 7 games.

- Juraj Simek (#167, Vancouver) has registered 4 consecutive multi-point games to start his WHL career and is 4-6-10 in 4 games. Playing with Codey Burki, who's also off to a nice start.

Also a few guys who were passed over in last year's draft are off to great starts. Jason Reese already has 11 points for the Vancouver Giants, and Tyler Swystun (who barely played as a 17 y/o freshman at Michigan) has 11 points as a rookie for Medicine Hat. Interesting to see if both can keep it up.

As mentionned above Ben Maxwell

He has 5 goals and 8 assists (13 pts) in 6 games. He's the leading scorer of the WHL.

And how about Cory Emmerton's teammate, Carolina 4th rounder (#123) Bobby Hughes, who's got 7 goals, 9 assists for 16 points and is second in OHL scoring.

didn't knew that...if he can become anything close to Tanguay, I will be really happy! And do you had the chance to see him play? If yes, do you think he will reach the NHL?

I played against him here in North Vancouver. He was 2 and 3 years younger than everyone else and the best player on the ice. I've seen him live plenty of times in the WHL - great speed, puck handling ability, smarts, and a decent shot. Like you said I don't know if he'll be as good as Tanguay, thats just the style of game he plays.
